Re: Change of approach for linux package management
.deb has always worked out well for me, so I'll stick with it.

Re: Use of FDM in Comodo Dragon
Hi searchlight. I use the Dragon, too. Install extension Downloaders in Dragon. Open Downloaders Options and select FDM as the default download manager, and other options to your liking. In FDM, place a check mark in Google Chrome. When FDM can't find it, opt to choose manually. Then point FDM to *P...

Re: Help in understanding video downloads
Hi again FotS, I've done more testing and it does appear to be a FDM problem. Until FDM addresses/fixes the problem, I found I can successfully download the second video from a site like keepvid.com/. After you enter the Youtube url on that site, you are presented a list of various download possibil...

Re: Can I be trusted yet?
I suspect the problem is in untrusted (or too many) links you have pasted in your message. It's a simple anti-linkspam bot and it works even for moderators. There are no advanced options for user rank or for antispam installed in this forum. Hello Andrzej: Thanks for the explanation and possible so...

Re: Help in understanding video downloads
No, I'm still not able to get audio on the second link. I think this is the same problem as the topic "mp4 downloads (youtube) do not play".

Re: Help in understanding video downloads
Yes, you're right. I cannot get audio on the second link now, either, raw or converted. Format Factory indicates there is no audio track. YouTube has changed something (again) since yesterday. Actually, I remember several posts here not too long ago about no audio on downloaded YouTube videos, don't...

Can I be trusted yet?
I've been a forum member here for nearly six years, even offered moderator status at one point, and I still get the anti-bot question when I post. It's annoying, aggravating, and degrading. When will I become a trusted member and be able to bypass this spam control?

Re: Help in understanding video downloads
Hello FotS: Try the latest FDM version 3.9.2 build 1303 (Mar 27, 2013, link ). Other than the multiple downloads problem, both videos download and play properly for me raw in VLC Media Player, or converted to .avi with FDM in WMP 11. Also, you may need an external codec pack if Winamp doesn't provid...

Re: "Download it" button
Yes, I've seen this in Firefox and am also using XP SP3. My workaround is to right click a blank area of the page and select Download video with Free Download Manager.

Thank you FDM team. I did a fresh install on XP SP3 and have no issues to report.

Re: FDM 5.0 Alfa
In my opinion FDM 5 is in pre-alfa state and it should not be used by current FDM 3.x users. It makes old FDM service files unusable because of conversion to Unicode (UTF-16). Below are my observations and suggestions: 1. There is NO warning about file conversion, there is NO warning to make backup...

Re: FDM 3.8 BETA 3
Flash video monitor has stopped working in Firefox 3.6.18 with error Flash video module is not installed. Please re-download FDM installer again and install. Tell me about the result. Yes, the Flash module works correctly again in new FDM 3.8 version (MD5 43c9621fe97be35163bd749a9d5cff1e) Thank you...
