Re: Firefox 38.0.5 and 39 crashes on exit

Alex, I've done that both with Firefox running and with it closed, but the plug-in is still at Ver.1.7.5.2. Would you advise a reinstall over the current version of FDM? EDIT - just tried that, and it works! The FF plugin now shows as Ver.1.7.5.4, and Firefox doesn't give an error message on exit. W...

Re: Firefox 38.0.5 and 39 crashes on exit

I now get a Windows error message 'Firefox has stopped working' every time I close the browser since upgrading to FF 39.0 last week - using FDM 3.9.6 Build 1556/FDM plugin Ver. 1.7.5.2/Windows 7 x64.

Re: FDM 3.9.4

Top marks to Usher for his reply, which did indeed make FDM work with Firefox 29 for me. The only comment I would make is that, for Windows 7 64-bit, the second registry key to delete should be: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ WOW6432Node \FreeDownloadManager.ORG\Free Download Manager\Settings\Update\F...

Surely this is only true if the Spybot SD resident protection modules ('bad download blocker', Teatimer) are running?

I spoke too soon again - it's stop/restart with every download today, even with everything checked for FDM in the Kaspersky Trusted Zone. Getting a bit fed up - I don't really want to switch to another download manager, but I might have to if this continues :( .

I find that, like inventao, I have to have all Trusted Application properties checked for FDM to work consistently - I don't know if that seriously increases the risk of virus infection.

I use KIS 7.0.325 + FDM
Work fine, solution: in KIS Setting->Threats and exclusions->Trusted zone->Trusted Applications Add FDM.EXE

Thanks, this solution work

Which properties have you enabled for FDM? (in Trusted Applications - Edit - Properties) - all of them?

Re: Degrading speeds

I'm running 2.5, build 753 under XP Pro. I downloaded DM just a couple of days ago, and loved it. Then the download speeds started degrading. Yesterday, I downloaded http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?fuseaction=CONTINUOUS_IMPROVEMENT.continuousImprovementPDF in a few minutes. Today, it's download...

<snip>But, fingers crossed, the latest release of FDM (Version 2.5 Build 755) seems to be working OK at the moment! However, it would be nice if Alex could perhaps have a look into this problem - there was a comment in the Release Notes for one of the most recent builds which suggested there was a ...

Re: 0 byte/second downloads after pause

Seems to be another case of the problem described here:

Yes, I've been having this problem for quite a while now - it's also been recently discussed on the Kaspersky Forums, as several users (including myself) thought it might be due to an interaction with Firewall or AV scanning in the latest Kaspersky AntiVirus/Internet Security products. But, fingers ...

Savaden - absolutely brilliant icons! Is there any chance you could incorporate these into a skin for FDM?

Third-party skins?

:?: Version 1.9 of FDM had the ability to support third-party skins - I was using the excellent g3o Gant-inspired skin by Frackounet. The new version 2 seems to have 'lost' this function - is there any way of re-enabling it?
