Could be an error in the file. Try the basic download of your browser or the explorer and check if it also occurs there.

It is a part of FDM now and pretty useful.
Why don't you yell about the Website-Manager, it is way more useless and the installer doesn't ask if you want it or not.
I don't get your point, just don't use it.

But, i bet this 'preparation' was just not shown in former versions. It was done, but not visible.
I guess FDM just communicates with the server, concerning protocoll and identification issues and the weather.

It is strange that FDM opens a download-dialogue, if there are no files of it left on you computer. (1) I bet your internet options are messed up, not due to using FDM. Set them to default and medium safety. Don't ask, how - because you know it! Have you tried it on another browser, like Firfox, Ope...

It didn't work for me either. I can't surf my own miniServer with the Site Explorer, if I set up a password protection. The server shows in the communication header, that he requests the password, but gets no answer from FDM. Another mayor bug.

The downloadspeed is shown in kB/s. Maybe if your speed is about 1kB/s the display is switches to B/s, but not for me. There is already an size-filter implemented.
With RegEx you could exclude files with certain strings in their URLs, like ad or icon. C'mon guys, wouldn't that be great?
