Have you tried adjusting settings in the FDM Options->Settings->Essential tab?
Of course. It looks like that:
And it's always in last state anyway (i.e. always minimized usually, as I am usually closing it right from the tray).
Please proceed to the Options->Settings-> New download->Advanced-> Miscellaneous and select a particular action from the list for the case 'If the file already exists'.
And this part looks like that:
Works for files (so if file/dir aventhaven2 already exist, it will create file aventhaven2(1) on next try). Doesn't work for dirs, it seems.
Actually, after some testing it looks like some problem for initial download creation. Looking on my old WinXP downloads, it was always index.html in root dir before - and it not that right now anymore. For some reason it not works that way in Win8, and I cannot decipher why. Different compatibility and privilege settings didn't solve anything for me.
Re: FDM 3.9.2
Downloads from http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/D ... 22757.html (under "Download locations" disappear without explanation. In the history section it says "Download removed", again without further explanation.
It would be nice if there were a bit more feedback.
Build 1303
Thanks for a great product!

Re: FDM 3.9.2
FDM 3.9.2 installer is updated to support Firefox 22-24.
Typically it's not required for users to update FDM. It will update Firefox extension automatically in 3 days approximately.

Re: FDM 3.9.2
Everytime I download it, it says it needs to be elevated and I get a mssg that says:
Create Process Failed; Code 740
The Requested Operation requires elevation
Have sent in a ticket with a screenshot and OS, browser and all, but no response as ticket was sent it by email on 06/05/13

Bearmannn, it's a typical message for Windows Vista/7/8 if you haven't enough rights or set User Access Control (UAC) too high. Check Control panel - Users - Access Control. (And I think you need to be in Administrator group to make needed changes).

Random question... while I realize you guys would like to cut down on the number of threads floating around, wouldn't it be best to put a response like this in its own, independent thread and then sticky it for all to see, rather than putting it into already long thread? There are many posts on this subject and still more cropping up each day....
