Change of approach for linux package management

Currently, Free Download manager provides `.deb` packages only and Alex said that, he would be publishing the tarball file alongside it.

But it seems not to be. What would I suggest is to use OpenSUSE's Build service - https://build.opensuse.org

Where they could automatically configure the package for both Debian Package and RPM package formats too. Essentially solving the need and stopping user's request for multiple package formats.

Flatpak is currently community maintained but the team isn't interested as of now. This would be a viable solution and better since it's official from the team.

.deb has always worked out well for me, so I'll stick with it. :)

Did you read their blacklist?
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_ ... _blacklist
FDM seems to use some restricted media codecs which are listed there.
