mouse cursor and seeking problem

Postby nexaen » Fri Jun 10, 2011 11:39 am

this problem exists in the most recent versions :
in the URL field when you click on URL , mouse cursor is not where the mouse indicator shows and when you start selecting URL (dragging mouse- highlighting) it misses 3 characters and highlights after that
look at the pics :

It is a problem with font metrics, I suppose. It should be OK for every font if URL is not bolded.

Can you change desktop composition settings (at least desktop fonts) in your OS and see what will happen?

It's not too bad, simply hit your Windows key + R, this brings up the run box. In the run box type Control Color, now you have the more familiar looking window to change text.

it was set to "segoe UI" and I changed it (all items' fonts) to "arial" and nothing changed about this problem ; this issue is related to "URL" address only - "saved in" address is ok ;

You could try to (if using Firefox) go to Options, Content, Advanced and see if changing the font options there may help. There is one checked that allows sites and such to change the fonts, if unchecked, it will be what you set, not what they set.

Im using Opera and Chrome - and I dont think that its a browser caused problem - if I manually add Download (link) from clipboard this problem happens too - a bug in the application (FDM) ? that should be fixed

here's a screenshot of my Language setting if it helps :

Yep, I just tried it using Firefox and it will not copy the link correctly, only parts. When I highlight .exe, it's only getting .ex

Well, obviously from here there isn't anything I can say except wait for a fix.
