An other options :
- A clean (downloaded files) button.
- Ability to keep the "last saved location" instead of a standard "default" location. For example : add a checkbox "keep for next download". So that until you clear the checkbox the "default" location will be the last used. (I know I am a genius)

I agree with what Trance said on Oct 26 2016, so I will repost it:

Please change the "maximum number of connections" from Total to per file, or add an option to switch between the two options.

ie. at present if setting the maximum number of connection to 4 and maximum number of simultaneous downloads to 4, there will be one connection per file.
If per file, then 4 downloads would have 4 connections each with total of 16 connections.

A button to change the behavior from Total connections to connections per download would be nice.

check previously downloaded file for update

add stream download same from idm and apowersoft streaming recorder, add extencion for all browsers, add some features from jdownloader2 examole of download of mega and similares, download subtitles from youtube etc... if you add this for free download manager, fdm going be the best of bests

Today, let's say I have FDM running and minimized/hidden in the tray. In my browser, I hold ALT to initiate a FDM download. What happens next is unfortunately enough to give just about anyone who frequently downloads friggin Carpel Tunnel because the process today continues with: Upon clicking the download link with FDM enabled, TWO windows appear (and herein lies the issue). The first window you would expect - it is the only window that REQUIRES input - it is the window titled "NEW FILE" - to verify the download filename, target save folder path, whether to schedule, etc. - that's just fine and ANY downloader needs this one. But, then look what has also appeared BEHIND it - it's the MAIN APPLICATION WINDOW! So, I click the "Download" button to confirm my choices and the new file window disappears, but now I've got a big brick wall window (the main app) un-hidden, un-minimized, blocking my browser. Today it requires all the additional unnecessary hand/wrist movement to then move the cursor all the way back to the red X, and the additional click to then once again close/minimize/hide it.

Rinse and repeat this whole process one minute later for the next file, and then continue 100 more times. It gets VERY old. So old in fact that I have had to just not use FDM if I know there are a lot of files to download - exactly the OPPOSITE of what I should be saying for my DOWNLOAD MANAGER that I use!

How did FDM 3.x legacy, IDM, and the dozens of other DM's I've used over the years handle this? I'm glad you asked! It's simple - as a DEV myself when I design apps I try to categorize my actions and associated windows with just how you would find them in the menu system. In other words, if an action requires the touch of a control of any kind on the MAIN APP window - show it. But, if the action is a sub-action found in a menu that then is a child MDI form (or no form) but regardless does NOT require input into the main app window - LEAVE IT IN IT'S CURRENT STATE. So, if the user has it minimized to taskbar, leave it, Hidden in the tray, leave it. Update any corresponding STATUS controls, progress bars, tooltips, etc. that already would have the event callbacks wired, anyway - and nothing else should be required. It actually takes ADDING WORK to call an unnecessary (and very un-natural) restore/unhide on the main app window, when the only thing even added to the main form is the new line and progress. In fact, in v3, you'd get a whole new code method that called the cool tray popup that you could then optionally have stick there on top of all windows with the full progress visible. v3 was very slick in this way and this is just another BIG feature-set that you should really consider wiring back in to v5+ moving forward!

The good news is, you've already re-coded and wired up the tray popup status for COMPLETION as an option that is implemented and already working today......I would think you can utilize that code and consider adding the additional methods for a simple quick auto-dismissing confirmation of the new download addition (exactly what v3 did) and then you could even push to a phase 2 working towards implementing the additional progress monitoring balloon popup with the configurable timeouts, too. If not, heck if nothing else for a quick update (assuming hopefully others also upvote this suggestion) - just disable this unnatural function code that is changing the main app form visibility status. Heck, I wouldn't think that would even break anything since I can use DEV tools to force it's status to hidden completely today myself, and I do not see any exceptions thrown.

This is my top feature request right now and would really save my wrist enough wear that I could actually go back to using FDM all the time!

I'm Voting to add Plugins made by fans, or anyone.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but I would like to Vote for the option to add plugins. This way the client can be kept light and it will give users the option to customize their client the way they like it. With this option we could change FDM to the old 3.x version if we pleased, or add more advanced options like Secure Proxy for those people who live in an internet censored country.

it should take over the internet speed to enable it to download whatever asked to download in time.it gets time out more often and the files are too small for it to be giving time out
