Odd. How did I get the correct one?

v5.1.5 was really released on March 16th. Then, since March 17th 9:30AM GMT, we had a temporary problem on the file server, which lead to reverting back to v5.1.4 for a while. Now it's fixed, sorry for the inconvenience.

Ahhh. I must have downloaded it before the server error then. So, when I check for updates in FDM, it is correct in saying I am up-to-date.

Thanks again, D.

They did it! Eight months after the public release, Microsoft finally added extension support to Edge today (only for Insider builds at the moment). We're looking into that.

I am happy, that fdm is now available for OS X.
Here are my feature requests:
It would be great, if a general download folder can be set, so that each download I will start, does not ask for or display the download folder.
Is it possible to add an option for website max. connections?
Is it possible to use a translation e.g. german on OS X?
Thank you for developing such a great software!

Found a possible problem with this Beta - 2, but both related to the same issue, really.

If you go to download a file, the main window pops up, and unless you make a decision on that file you cannot add anymore downloads. Similarly, if you decide to cancel the download, the main window still stays up on the screen.

That brings me to a RFF - make the DL notification independent of the main window, and add a floating status monitor, like in the old FDM, please.

I found you can manually edit the file name before downloading at the top of the download window - should have tried that initially lol.

So I can add comments / rename the file on the fly. Cool.

Version 5.1.6 released

Postby D. Yessa » Tue Mar 22, 2016 4:40 pm

D. Yessa wrote:- File space preallocation for big files (see Settings > Advanced). Please tell us how it works for you.
- Experimental support for Microsoft Edge (see Settings > Monitoring). We can only handle http links, not https.
The latest Windows Insider build (14291) has some Edge extensions support, but it still lacks the features we need to make it work. We requested additional information from Microsoft, but they will unlikely give us any reply. Keep waiting for any news from Redmond.

No worries, I understood perfectly fine.

I've made a topic about Feature Requests for FDM 5 at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17410 - please feel free to add your requests there as well, and answer the poll if you'd like.

I know it's been mentioned earlier, but it seems that the problem is still there.

When downloaded file is removed from the download list. despite clicking the "Remove from list", FDM deletes the file from disk. It's annoying and (somewhat) dangerous. I always have to move the files from the downloaded location to another location to avoid this scenario.

If solving the issue is somewhat clumsy right now then please instruct the "Delete from disk" function, or whichever function deletes the files, to delete files into "Recycle Bin", so that whenever this has to be faced, users can regain their files from recycle bin.

Another (somewhat) minor issue is that, it seems like FDM is taking a great portion of RAM. At standby it takes about 150MB and while handling more than 2 downloads it easily goes above 200-250MB. I've never came across any download manager (not including Java based ones) taking this amount of RAM. (I'm using the 64bit edition)

Thanks

I'm on WinX Pro x64 (Insider Preview Redstone build 14291) and at idle FDM is taking only 65.5 MB here. Is your FDM currently seeding a torrent?

Also, I have the setting for deleting list set to ask me every time, and I always select delete from list, and it does not delete from disk, only the list.

Hi, I fear the problem that last fdm 5 for Win XP was much more reliable on downloading the files to the end than new beta (used on Win 10). Often files have HTTP 503 error at 99 %. But why?

And why do I have to restart file by file and cannot restart all files that show the restart symbol with one click?

Ok, thank you.
