Thank you for the suggestion, we'll consider adding this functionality in the web installer ("locate the downloaded installer"). Generally, web installer is intended to improve the download experience for users with bad internet, who cannot download FDM via browser.

Usher wrote:I think I don't need any web browser to read "licence terms". It should be just text file as standard GNU GPL license is and it should not crash my browser.
It crashes your browser? Could you please file a bug report?

Anonymooose wrote:Web installers.

They're another name for "we want to download **** alongside the program.. say hello to toolbars and browser hijacks!"
There are absolutely no toolbars, hijacks and/or any other malware in our web installer. It also will check the downloaded installer signature in the near future.

Icon do not scale on highDPI:
Thanks for the report. Both bugs will be fixed in the future builds.

Please keep going.

We assume that FDM 3 has a lot of obsolete features which overweight the UI. To detect which features are still needed, we (obviously) need your help.

Alpha version lacks some functionality (definition).
Now we are testing the UI/UX and also trying to find out what features are needed but not yet implemented. Again, thanks to everyone for the feedback.

This is alpha version & I dont have test system so I use to try it under sandboxie. But the new web installer is not working under sandboxie i.e after install it mention not installed properly, reinstall.

Does the video downloader has MP3 download option?
If yes, does it gives the option to download MP3 in different quality like videos?
Like videos download has quality option like 1080p, 720p, etc...?
Does MP3 download gives quality option?
If not then what is the default download MP3 quality?
But would be good if quality options is there for MP3 too.

Currently I use 4kvideodownloader & it gives quality option for MP3 too.
Like low quality, normal, high, etc... like 128k, 256, 320, etc...

Tried it under Toolwiz Time Freeze virtualization software.

Few observations.
1. No option to set default download folder in GUI. (But can be set when you try to download something)
2. I couldn't find enable/disable Torrent in the GUI.
3. Video download didn't work in Internet Explorer 11.
4. Under Google Chrome latest stable, video downloads sometimes gives results as 0 bytes.
5. Under Google Chrome, downloads sometimes takes very long time to return results i.e the circle keeps spinning & during that time no other downloads is catched by FDM but catched by browser. And no way to cancel that spinning thing.
6. After sometime all downloads were catched by browser. Dont know why FDM didn't react. Restarting the browser solves the issue.
7. Video downloads results had duplicate downloads, for ex- 240 3gp, same file listed 2 times but of different size (dont know if duplicate, bug or what)
8. No confirmation popup/dialogue after download is completed.

Win 7 64 system.

Hello,

I hope FDM can give 2 installation option, either web install or classical download and install. I hate web install, I can't pause and queue my downloads when the line is free. My speed is 50 kbps + unstable.

Thanks.

Free Download Manager version 3.9.4 doesn't support link download from Google Drive. When I click the link which I need to download from Google Drive it can't download the file althought it appear a pop up . I hope in version 5, you can solve it. :)

Integrity Check

Postby drkdfndr » Wed Jul 16, 2014 2:57 pm

There is no obvious way to perform an integrity (MD5/SHA checksums) check on downloaded files.

Edit: rephrased that

Crashes during torrent download

Postby drkdfndr » Wed Jul 16, 2014 7:07 pm

Don't know if this is a known issue/reported early, but FDM keeps on crashing when I download a torrent.
The torrent is the only thing that I am downloading with FDM. I have already submitted two crash reports via the crash report tool.

Dear all,

Unfortunately, Google does not allow downloading videos from Chrome by using any third-party programs and blocks all extentions outside Chrome Web Store.
