Vote for upcoming FDM 6 features
Re: [NEW] Vote for upcoming FDM 6 features
holy fuck have u destroyed your own program or what, once downloads are moved from list, it will refuse to pick it back up and and will just redownload a whole new file, also only allows to skip on a redownload instead of verifying the files and downloading what is broken.
old system pls. this new one is fucked.

FTP-ES (File Transfer Protocol, Explicit TLS Security) connections, and directory tree (whole folder) downloads, unless one or both are already supported. I really want to just right-click on a directory in an index-list in a http site and send it to FDM to download the directory itself plus all contents.

Good fast way to get ignored. How about asking nicely?

Please (!!!!!) provide a real portable Version without installation in a ZIP or 7Z file!
That would be very great!

Sorry if this feature has been requested somewhere. Please have a filter box to filter in the "download all" window. Thank you.
Re: [NEW] Vote for upcoming FDM 6 features
So after discovering the OperaGX browser it means the FlashGot extension I have been using to intercept download in Waterfox for FDM 3.9.7 dont exist there, so my only real option with the new browser would be to use the v6 now. That said there is a few things I don't really like still about it.
A download manager to me is just as much a download history viewer, and as such I end up sorting download in loads of categories, and while tags in FDM6 can sort of do that the list can get long and as such having that tag list down along the left side would be a lot better rather than along the top as it is now, so giving some options where the list of tags are listed would be really welcome for me. In addition also I would like to be able to assign tags to downloads before starting them, in that popup windows that prompts for where to store the file on the PC etc.
Also being able to manually order the downloads in the list would be really appreciated as well
Also due to it being just as much of a history viewer for me, I would love it, if there were a way to also import the download list from FDM3.9.7 to 6(and in the process turning the categories from 3.9.7 into tags in 6), from what I can see the 2 versions use entirely different file formats for imports/exports, and as such this seems impossible at the time
If any of this is somehow possible already and I just missed it, I would appreciate telling me too
Also credit where credit is due, I do like the dark theme quite a bit, so it is not all bad, but it does still seem very stripped down compared to the 3.9.7 version, though I don't use a lot of the stripped features, other than what I outlined above, I am sure there are people that do, so it does seem weird how much it got stripped down

I'm curious to know when the extension for Safari would be back
Not a big fan of Chrome, FDM extension doesn't work well on Chrome. Sometimes the app won't launch or appear when I try to download something on a site by clicking the "download with FDM".

Hello,
Sorry, but it seems we do not have any plans for this.

Sounds like a bug we can fix in case you'll help us to reproduce it. We've never saw this happen and none of our users reported it ever. Are there any reproduce steps we can follow to reproduce the bug on our side?

Re: [NEW] Vote for upcoming FDM 6 features
Dear Alex;
can it be possible to make a dynamic download table instead of assigning tags like all, downloading and completed.
explanation:
suppose there are 10 downloads 1, 2, 3 are downloading 4, 5 are in queue and 6-10 completed. number are assigned according to entry. the download table contain a three segmented table (without any line or anything between them) in the first section downloading files are added, then queue and then completed downloads.
when 2nd download is completed it move from the 2nd spot to the completed section and also above 6-10 and the 4th queue start downloading. when 3rd download is completed it move down to the completed section and present below the 2nd download and above the 6-10 downloads.
this will make the download table more dynamic and you can skip giving tags in the up of download table.
thanking you

Re: [NEW] Vote for upcoming FDM 6 features
That is just an implementation of splitting the download window into 3 parts, and use the tags to determine which part they belong in, without any numbering required. Using the tags would be easier, insofar as they tagging method is already a part of FDM, so why complicate it with a numbering scheme?

Re: [NEW] Vote for upcoming FDM 6 features
you are wrong i was not talking about giving number to each download and removing tags i am trying to say is just hiding the tags to looks FDM more vibrant as well as interactive. And the number mentions here from 1 to 10 are the download entry to fdm with url.johnlgalt wrote:That is just an implementation of splitting the download window into 3 parts, and use the tags to determine which part they belong in, without any numbering required. Re: [NEW] Vote for upcoming FDM 6 features
My mistake. I misunderstood the methodology.
In my use case, though, I download pretty much everything to one DL folder, and then manually move them where I want to after some time, and have FDM set to automatically remove entries when they are deleted (which, technically, moving a file is essentially copy it to a second location and then deleting from the first location). So my DL window stays relatively clean as it is without even using the tags at all.
Maybe the release of the UI on GitHub can allow you to build a multi-function window as you like and see f it works any better?
