Unknown network-related error detected
Unknown network-related error detected
Hi,
I have been using FDM for the past year and I love it. But I received this message "Unknown network-related error detected" whenever I push the Ok button on the Add Download dialogue. I have tried 20+ websites; none work. I also checked my firewall and it allows fdm. Any solutions?

Hello. Can you provide sample URLs? Details on your FDM, browser and extension versions would also be nice.
Re: Unknown network-related error detected
My fdm version is 5.1.34.6993. I tried "check for updates," but it gave me the "unknown network-related error" again. I uninstalled and reinstalled fdm. I use chrome, but do not use the fdm extensions as I use fdm to download large files.
Nothing has worked since I started receiving this message. An example of a download that does not work is this test pdf. http://s2.q4cdn.com/235752014/files/doc_downloads/test.pdf The pdf works perfectly in browser, but when I put the link in the "Add download" dialogue and press ok, it immediately comes up with the error in red below the link input area. Here is a picture. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PG4ACahEgv_QHOjN0_gsKgEswUg-Mtm1/view?usp=sharing
I believe that fdm is somehow not receiving the internet, which is weird because it is unblock on my firewall. So, there must be something else blocking fdm,
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the info.
Do you use any VPN with FDM or generally in the OS?

No. I don't.
Re: Unknown network-related error detected
Although I did change some hardware in my computer, which deactivated Windows 10. I have had problems reactivating it. About that time, I started receiving the error, which was about a month ago. Do you think those problems could be related?
Re: Unknown network-related error detected
I am having the same error message "Unknown network-related error detected". It started after I changed the proxy settings to "Configure manually" in FDM. Now I changed the settings to "System proxy", but now I can't download anything. Also adjusting settings to "System proxy" doesn't work. I am getting the mentioned error message. I don't use any proxy.
Some info:

Re: Unknown network-related error detected
Could you just turn off the proxy settings if you don't use them?

I tried "No proxy" in the network settings of FDM. Nothing changed. Even if I delete the "AppData\Local\Free Download Manager" directory, it does not work. Same error.
Re: Unknown network-related error detected
Usher, thanks for your suggestion. Today the problem is solved. Don' know how. Probably a restart of pc or something.
