Hello, this is the most common problem as of late. We are working to fix Youtube compatibility all the time, and it still changes almost regularly.
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
I have news, some videos can still be downloaded from youtube it seems. Thanks for trying to fix the youtube problems, they seem to make it worse by the time.

Yes, it's a very frustrating thing to work with.
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Not sure if anyone else has had my issue, but the FDM extension for Firefox does not seem to be catching any downloads from Firefox at all. I've got it enabled in desktop application settings, but every time I try to download something it defaults to the in-built downloader. The context menu when right-clicking videos and pictures still works though.

Firefox build? Addon version number? FDM version?
Not trying to be a jerk, but not having that info makes it impossible to either answer your post or to provide helpful hints at what you can try to do to fix it.

Oh my goodness I'm so sorry; I read the forum rules and completely forgot to include that information.

Thanks for the info. It's a recent issue for some users, the dev team is looking into it.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
FDM doesn't even detect that Firefox is installed and I am using the 32bit version and the addon is present. All it does is tell me to download firefox and I end up with a duplicate browser that still does not work. I just uninstall it and find another download manager if no one gives me any clear fix
Thanks
RJ

FDM version 3.9.7 build 1641 stopped working after I updated Firefox to version 68. Each time this error message pops up when I try to download a file:
I reinstalled FDM, I reinstalled FF, but to no avail. Any help? My OS: Win 7 x64.
Code: Select all
Free Download Manager is not properly installed! Please reinstall Free Download Manager.
If you want to download with your browser please disable FDM extension in it.

It looks like Mozilla updated AMO signing procedures and the extension should be re-released with bumped version number to force new digital signing. See for example update description for uBlockOrigin here:
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases/tag/1.20.2
Raymond Hill wrote:This release exists only to fulfill a request by Mozilla that I submit a new version even if there is no code change, so as to test changes on the back-end of AMO.
WARNING: New AMO procedures may make extension incompatible with older Firefox builds (especially with Firefox 52.9.0 ESR, the last version for Windows XP). Just guessing, but you should remember troubles in May…

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Hi,
I got the extension for Firefox from extension store of Firefox. (also there are 2 and one is fake. Please do something!!)
Ok here is the problem: the extension in you tube causes memory leak in Firefox on random! i mean it feels up 16 gb of memory in 5 seconds!
Please fix.
FDM v5.1.38.7312 (79f26aa)
Firefox v68.0.1 64bit
addon v3.0.40
