UPDATE: I have reinstalled FDM, and it seems that it sort out the problem for a few moments. After awhile I was back to the same problem. I haven't changed any of the FDM features except for flash monitoring.
Also noticed that FDM crash the Norton Tolbar!
Noticed to that some videos in flv fail to be downloaded![quote]

UPDATE: fillehippo.com problem seems to be fixed, don't know how but somehow FDM is now able to intercept the download. (early I could download from filehippo.com if I use the drop box, because FDM was failing to intercept the download). I have reinstalled and added FDM to Norton exclusions dunno if it was it.
Norton Toolbar problem remains, for some reason the toolbar disappears at times, frequently when opening new tabs or sometimes it disappears for good, I have to unnistall FDM and reset browser options to get it again.
The flv download problem remains even though I was able to download videos from some of the sites that I previously wasn't able to. From some sites I was only able to download one movie, after that FDM says that no video was found.

Can you add support for Metalink 4 (RFC5854)?

Important changes from Metalink 3 which FDM already supports:
    Different namespace: xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:metalink" (Previous: xmlns="http://www.metalinker.org")
    Different file extension: .meta4
    <url> no longer has type attribute listing ftp, http, bittorrent.
    New <metaurl> instead of URLs to torrents or metalinks.
    Piece checksums are no longer numbered.
    Removed extraneous empty container elements: <files>, <verification>, <resources>
    IANA registry Hash Function Textual Names defines values for hash types. The SHA hashes now have a "-" in them: sha-1, sha-224 sha-256, sha-384, sha-512 instead of "sha1" etc.

Here is what it looks like:

Code: Select all

 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
 <metalink xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:metalink">
   <file name="example.ext">
     <size>14471447</size>
     <hash type="sha-1">3d6fece8033d146d8611eab4f032df738c8c1283620fd02a1f2bfec6e27d590d</hash>
     <url location="de" priority="1">ftp://ftp.example.com/example.ext</url>
     <url location="fr" priority="1">http://example.com/example.ext</url>
     <metaurl mediatype="torrent" priority="2">http://example.com/example.ext.torrent</metaurl>
   </file>
 </metalink>

Thank you.

Hi there,
HTML Spider is failing to stop, If you press the stop button HTML Spider stops the downloads but seems to keep refreshing. I can't really explain this very well so I have decided to make a lil movie though it ill be more self explanatory.
VIDEO 36Mb (srry if the file size is a lil big, blame Camestudio! :roll: )

EDIT:
Usually after this FDM stops responding and I am forced to kill the process fdm.exe
Also get this error when deleting the files in HTML Spider tab.

Code: Select all

szAppName : fdm.exe     szAppVer : 3.4.909.0     szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0     offset : 00000000

Go %programfiles%\Free Download Manager\Firefox\extension folder.
Edit install.rdf file. Change <em:maxVersion>3.*</em:maxVersion> to <em:maxVersion>4.*</em:maxVersion>.

Shutdown Firefox. Disable monitoring in FDM. Start Firefox and shutdown it again. Enable monitoring. Start Firefox.

Tell me about the result.

Hi Alex,

thx for your info but the first results i've got aren't very good. At first FDM-Plugin was furthermore deactivated although I had bumped the maxversion.

But with this info i've done some experiments. :)
Enableing the monitoring FDM in Fx 4 is little bit tricky with the new Extension-Manager

Bumping the maxversion in install.rdf for Fx 4.x is required ... but this to do a little bit later ...

At first close Fx 4, then uninstall FDM, install FDM again, don't start Fx 4, go in FDM to Options and disabling monitoring Firefox., close FDM. Then bump the maxVersion in install.rdf is the next, save, close, ... start FDM, enabling Monitoring Firefox, start Firefox and FDM-Plugin is activated and enabled :)

Or you can just install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003/

That enables older add-ons to be used with Firefox 4.

The option you are mentioning, appears when you right click on a hyperlink not the webpage itself.
