Re: FDM 3.9.4
This warning may be valid in some cases:aleph wrote:after fdminst.exe download Google Chrome refused to save it
- You are trying to download old FDM installer. Older FDM versions don't have proper FDM plugin or may be buggy.
- You are trying to download FDM installer from other sites. Some sites repack FDM installer into their own wrapper containing adware.
- You are trying to download from FDM site a fresh build before it is properly recognized by Chrome validation system.

Re: FDM 3.9.4
The dowload URL click problem in IE11 has been solved by a new update from MS, but there is yet another issue. IE11 is randomly crashing while closing the IE11 window. What crashes is the background process.
BUG: IE11 background process crashes almost every time IE is beeing closed.

Re: FDM 3.9.4
Have you tried to run IE with flash video monitoring turned off in FDM? - YES and its crashing
Have you tried to run IE with all monitoring options turned off in FDM? - YES, and it still crashes on the urlmon in connection with fdmumsp
Have you tried to run IE in safe mode? - in progress
Have you updated your Nvidia card drivers? - yes | NVIDIA NVS 2100M | driver version 9.18.13.4066Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall IE11? - No | I just reset the IE settings do default. SFC scan reports no errors
I've tried to Disable/Enable Hardware acceleration, but it did not matter.
edit: I've "removed" the IE11 feature from Windows 7 and added it back, but the crashes continue.
I also disabled the FDM IE addon, but IE crashed anyway. Just o be sure, I am going to remove FDM from the system and do the test again.
edit: Since I've uninstalled FDM, I had no IE crashes. I'll try to reinstall FDM again and see what happens.

Re: FDM 3.9.4
Dear Users
FDM is crashing IE (FDM 3.5 RC crashing IE8) and so on because of the new features flvsniffer.dll for downloading videos from the web player.
Unchecked browser monitoring for IE and run IE and you will see no IE crash (Do not forget to delete all plugins and context menus from IE).

Re: FDM 3.9.4
It is topic about the newest FDM 3.9.4 builds, not about outdated FDM 3.5 RC. FLVsniffer has been fixed and improved many time since that old build.Guest wrote:FDM is crashing IE (FDM 3.5 RC crashing IE8)

Re: FDM 3.9.4
I suspect that the original report has been prepared before releasing the new FDM build, because the author reports also older Nvidia Forceware 340.66 build (current build is 344.16 WHQL)Guest wrote:3.9.4 build 1472 is old, the current version is 3.9.4 build 1478

Re: FDM 3.9.4
I have now the 3.9.4 build 1478 build installed. I'll test it for few days nad get back to you.
(I had to test the browser without FDM first / no crashes)
FYI the current official driver for notebooks with Quadro (NV2100M) is 340.84 WHQL Released 2014.9.23
EDIT: so far so good, the problem seems to be solved.
EDIT2: Nah, I spoke too soon. Today I got a crash again. This time while closing a tab.
I almost allways start IE with one tab with "about:blank". Then I click the home icon, so my favorite pages get loaded in to tabs. The crash happens either while closing a tab or while closing the browser window with the last tab open. The crash itself is not visible. it happens on background, after the tab/window is already closed. The only note about the crash is a notification window and dump files in C:\Users\<my profile>\AppData\Local\CrashDumps

There are still problems with updates from Microsoft, see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16941#p39410

See, I am not sure, that this is a related issue. The links are working and downloads are captured by FDM. The issue I have is more of a cosmetic nature as the IE crash happens on closing of a window or tab. The Crash dialog report is more of an annoyance. There are no report when FDM is uninstalled.
My sysytem is fully updated.
Re: FDM 3.9.4
That's why you have problems. Last updates are broken again. You should use another browser for tests now - if it works OK with FDM, you must wait for fixes from Microsoft and only then retest IE. If other browsers crash with FDM, you should better check your system more thoroughly - check your hardware (f.e. test memory, clean fans and slots, test another PSU and video card if possible), check file systems on all partitions, remove malware etc.SelfMan wrote:My sysytem is fully updated.
There are many reports that GPUs used in notebooks may overheat and randomly crash with any app using GPU acceleration. Sometimes it may be fixed by GPU chip reballing (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rework_%28 ... _reballing ). I hope you don't need it - results may be inadequate and you should be prepared to buy a new notebook.
