Hi everybody,
I am encountering some problems with 8K videos on youtube.
1. FDM is not showing the 8K downloading option in some videos. e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-6wqFE79Gc
of which the screenshot http://pasteboard.co/RitafQmaE.png
2. FDM is showing the wrong resolution for probably all of the 8K videos. e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygqzQ8XlHTM - it is showing 4K for the actual 8K stream and there is no actual 4K option available of which the screenshot http://pasteboard.co/Rir1KqsUw.png

System information -
Free Download Manager 5.1.26.5889 (aba1429) 64-bit
Mozilla Firefox 52.0.2 64-bit
Microsoft Windows 10 pro 64-bit

I urge the fellow forum members to check it themselves and the developers to look into this issue.

FDM can only download the resolutions that YouTube gives. The video on YouTube can have a dozen resolutions, but when downloading, YouTube lets download only a few of them.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
Let me share what I have found.

For this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-6wqFE79Gc 8K streams are available. But the strange thing is that the 2 available streams are both webm although they are different in size, one is 772.35 MB and the the other one is 669.78 MB. The first one should be mp4 stream which I can assume by looking at the size but the rest is not known.

For this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygqzQ8XlHTM separate 4K and 8K mp4 streams are available. The size of the 4K stream is 218.76 MB and the 8K stream is 834.19 MB. So I think there is some tweak needed to properly name the files according to resolution, which at the moment is not correct as seen in this screenshot http://pasteboard.co/Rir1KqsUw.png
