FDM 6

Hello,
You need to launch FDM6 at least once so it can register browser extensions to itself.
franzb wrote:Also I found that FDM6 does not accept some filenames that are valid for FDM5, for example "C: /Download/a.C.d.C.
The children of the Sun p.1 The Aztecs 14461380_1800.mp4 ".
Thanks for the report. This is caused by the ending space. Also, it contains invalid character between a.c.d.c and The children.
franzb wrote:Last consideration: when I pause a file a confirmation window appears (useless) is it possible to remove this warning? Thanks.
Can you please provide some details? Screenshot maybe? I did not understand.

Hello,
After canceling "Check for updates automatically", it does not work, or automatically check for updates.

I summarize the problems I encounter with FDM6 versus FDM5:
- filenames containing the "newline" character give an error, with FDM5 this did not happen and these characters were converted to "space".
- by pausing a single file, the warning in the attached image is returned. This does not appear with the general "pause" command and files resume correctly from where they left off. With FDM5 this problem did not exist.
- the search for the previously downloaded files is very slow as soon as the first character of the search is entered, if there was a small moment of waiting the search could begin to filter the first 3-4 characters, speeding up the operation. On FDM5 it worked much better.
- when you perform a search and then insert a new download, the window does not show the downloads in progress but remains on the search. FDM5 went back to the main window, I find it more comfortable and intuitive.
Re: FDM 6
it will be better if the FDM 6.x develop the above UI. it will solve few problems like size and resize window and also it looks nice from the earlier versions.
kindly give it a try.
Re: FDM 6
The UI looks good plb7777 but it would be better if you combined status, speed and date added when the download is completed there is no use of progress, speed and ETA but it show added and in normal downloading it hides date added. It will solve all the UI related problems. I think Alex will look into it and modified the current UI accordingly.

Hello,
Thanks for summarizing it. I've created a ticked in our bug tracking system. We'll try to fix these bugs in one of the next updates.

Hello,
I don't think we have a time for this. But now it's possible for our users to make such customizations on theirs own. Please check this topic.

Thanks a lot, glad to be helpful!
however I do not understand so many bugs compared to FDM5 which was almost perfect and functional, it was only missing the export / import of the list.

Hello,
FDM5 contains much more bugs, and they are much more serious.
For example, regarding your bug report about that "C: /Download/a.C.d.C.
The children of the Sun p.1 The Aztecs 14461380_1800.mp4 ".
I've just tested it in FDM5. Yes, it did allow me to create download with such name and even downloaded it successfully. But now:
1. It can't show it in the folder.
2. I did find the file manually but now can't remove it using Windows Explorer.
3. I've tried removing download with the file from FDM5: download was removed but the file is still there. I had to use a special program to be able to remove this file.
So, this FDM6 "bug" is much more harmless. This is not even a bug, but just an inconvenience. The real bug is your file's invalid name, which FDM6, theoretically, could fix for you.

I did not get it. There is already 100ms delay between the user stops its typing and the actual search starts.
Other issues from your "summarized" report will be fixed in the next update.

Hello,
This should not happen and I don't know what you are talking about... Any details so we can understand this case and fix it?

Re: FDM 6
Hi, is it normal for the download manager to have high RAM consumption? I am using the 64 bit version.
I was surprised that it consumes so much more than the antivirus manager itself.
Obviously I am not going to give an alarm for such a thing, it is just that it has surprised me in part, I have a lot of RAM. Anyway, the program works very well.
