December Payment
December Payment
Well, it´s January 20th. and nobody´s complaining here about December payments, that shoud have been done by January 10th.
Or we are getting used to the unbelievable delays in payments, or there are still lots of people that didn´t get even there November bucks, and they lost all their hopes. Or, perhaps, everybody got paid except me!
I think that this is a great job. Well paid, when paid.
But I think everyone is tired with the struggle of getting paid. And that shouldn´t be our (translators & manager) problem. It´s FDM problem, and they must solve it.
Someone suggested Ikobo some days ago. It´s a great payment way, quicker and A LOT cheaper to us. I´ve paid PayPal and Xoom U$S 100 last month, to get my money at home. I think that´s way too much!
My two cents. Please, feel free to share your thoughts!

I think that all the November mess with Paypal added to the end-of-year holidays are to account for the delay in December payments.
Keep in mind that all the November payments that came back to FDM's account because translators didn't reply to Paypal's query of additional information, have to be made again and this adds to the usual administrative complications.
However, and I already said it in the "News" section of the interface, I am convinced that using a batch processing in Paypal for the payments would be much easier for everybody, instead of individual payments. I don't know why it hasn't been done yet, or if there is an impediment to it.
It is called "Mass Payment", which is free for the recipient though they charge a 2% of the amount with a $1 cap per each individual payment made through mass payment, which in addition would be much cheaper as to the fees we are being charged in Paypal.
Here is anyway all the information about Mass Payments at Paypal:

December Payment
I´ve been paid yesterday.
I think that we´re all newbies in the field of payments through Internet. FDM staff is learning, too. Maybe it would be wise from them to listen us more.
Ikobo is an easier and cheaper payment method, but they didn´t say a word about it, even when several translators and managers recommended it.
Let´s hope that payments problems are gone forever, and that we will get our January money before February 22, this time, for a change.
Best Regards.
