PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Firefox addon doesn't do anything in firefox x64.
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
OK, we'll look into that.
Just wondering: why do you need Firefox x64?

it's work, I use nightly 32.0a1 (2014-05-13), try to uninstall the firefox extension and reenable that in fdm setting, fdm should handle that...

in my case, the default firefox (32 bit) always crashed and buggy in windows 64 bit system, sometime the shockwave flash need to reload again and again

You didn't do any reading before posting.Gyrxiur wrote:Firefox addon doesn't do anything in firefox x64.
FDM is NOT a 64-bit app, it's 32-bit app with 32-bit plugins so it works with 32-bit browsers only.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Hello fdm team!
Currently i've just migrated from my previous download manager to fdm. I appreciate all the works of the team, this fdm was so great to make me move on! But there is one problem: browser monitoring won't work on waterfox v.32 (It's basically a 64-bit fork of firefox). The plugin seems installed and active, the context menu works, but the monitoring stops. I'm using windows 8.1 x64. In IE, it's still working properly.
Cheers!

Have you read the FDM FAQ about 64-bit browsers?dzakyelfikri wrote:browser monitoring won't work on waterfox v.32 (It's basically a 64-bit fork of firefox).

I sure hope that is not the answer from developers as well. "Oh sure lets have people that barely know how to surf the net and turn on the computer, do all this time consuming and complicated stuff, so we don't have to do it."
Most PC users can't even install stuff, they don't even notice the "custom install" and if they do, they have no idea what it means. So expecting users to do all that work is just ridiculous.
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
What work do you mean? Is it really so difficult to read one message here: FDM FAQ - 64-bit Windows and 64-bit browsers?SlickR wrote:So expecting users to do all that work is just ridiculous.
FDM and Waterfox are NOT dedicated for newbies, some advanced options and features are NOT dedicated even for common users, so some technical knowledge may be required in any non-standard case. Do read "How to Report Bugs Effectively", please, if you don't trust my words.
FDM is a free software, but it is free as freedom, NOT free as a free beer. So:
- you are free to NOT use FDM if you don't like it;
- you are free to send detailed reports to help developers, if you want FDM to work better.
Complaining is futile, detailed reports are always welcome. If you want to make a suggestion, you can use "Suggest an idea" button at the top right corner of that page.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Firefox v33 update is telling that the FDM extension will be disabled because of incompatibility.
What to do?
Is it something we can fix or is a fix from the devs required?
