Thanks Usher,
"Don't forget alphabetically, 39.0 appears before 39.0b7" would have been more helpful because it took "daft" me several minutes to work out what you were telling me with "read more carefully"
Regards, Dave

Wrong. Sort by date is obvious.dko wrote:"Don't forget alphabetically, 39.0 appears before 39.0b7" would have been more helpful

OK you win. but you have also made my point.
[NOT having a go Usher - just explaining] I did actually find/realize AFTER your previous "Do read more carefully" post that I could auto-sort by date, as well as refer to alpha order. Obviously, by last my reply I did NOT know to which of the two you were alluding. So, Sort by date was only obvious to you, probably because you know your way around Mozilla's many ftp folders and areas and are more than a mere PC User like me.
Mozilla certainly could be MUCH MORE helpful (and with little effort) by not just entering 39.0 with a new date and "Security update" in its Options> Advanced>Update >"Show Update History" window of Firefox with a "More details" link that just sends you to the Beta notes page. "Firefox Beta Notes Version 39.0beta, first offered to Beta channel users on May 28, 2015" (which is the same page for all updates listed".
Mozilla should at least put 39.0 Candidate Build 5 as well as the date. "Security Update" is "so vague" and what they always put, and the "more details" link is not about each update.
Anyway, Usher, I know Now
Kind regards, Dave
Re: Please provide a new compatible plugin for Firefox 39 Beta and 38.0.5 Beta
Wrong once again. Alpha and beta releases are for advanced users (computer-literate at least) rather than for common users that can only post complaints. If someone knows how to report a problem, I may expect that such a user knows how to use more advanced tools (f.e. file manager, FTP client) than Windows Explorer or web browser and knows how to deal with sort order, file attributes, directory tree etc.dko wrote:Sort by date was only obvious to you,
And it seems to be obvious for any people that the newest things are published with the newest date, no matter they are numbered or not.
There's no doubt about it, but you should know well that technical staff can't find common language with marketing staff...dko wrote:Mozilla certainly could be MUCH MORE helpful

Re: Please provide a new compatible plugin for Firefox 39 Beta and 38.0.5 Beta
You are so rude and superior at times.
I have NEVER complained, and only react due to your provocative put downs (as most not scared of an online roasting from you, would). I am far from the first person have upset with your manner. Alex and Yessa's manner to my posts has always been civil, helpful and pleasant.
In future Usher do yourself a favour (and me) don't reply to me, just reply to those deemed worthy of your time and excellence. I know by that I will miss out on some useful and helpful information, but at least I will not have to "walk on broken glass" wondering what mood you will be in when you reply.
ALL I asked was: Could you advise me of the URL etc you use, please Usher. You replied Do read more carefully, please: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org
Then I got a load of "PUT DOWN VERBAL" from you each time I politely replied, purely because my replies still misunderstood what you exactly meant me to know.
What you have said in your latest post is plain nasty, uncalled for and beneath you. "Just because you can does not mean you should". I may not be an expert and I recognize my limitations BUT I am certainly computer literate and have in the past USER tested PC software for 2 years in my last job.
Unlike you, I make some mistakes and occasionally fail to notice something others notice or may feel obvious (as I did in this case. "To err is human" Try being more human and more empathetic sometimes!
I'm done.
