Remote Access Questions
Remote Access Questions
Hello,
I am testing out the Remote Access feature (in version 6.19.1.5263) which works perfectly! (I am connecting from PC to another PC on the same network)
However, I wanted to know about the privacy of the connection. Does it go through your servers or something of that sort? It feels like the connection is not done on the LAN but needs to go through some sort of "authenticator" for the passwords and ID (I assume this is the case if using an android device).
I would appreciate if you can please clarify (or let me know where I can find clarification) about the privacy of the downloads - what data is shared on your end and what is not etc.
Thank you in advance!

Re: Remote Access Questions
Hello,
All the data goes through our servers. This is done to simplify things and make them reliable.
Connection is encrypted using SSL (the same as in HTTPS).
We do not monitor/track/save this traffic in any way.
We do not store any data about your FDM or its traffic.

Oops. Sorry, there is a mistake. Two FDMs will establish a direct connection in case it's possible. Otherwise - the data between two FDMs will be passed through our servers. We plan to introduce more advanced techniques to establish a direct connection between two FDMs in case this feature will be popular enough.
