Is FDM worth it?

Postby Zelos » Wed Aug 25, 2004 8:33 pm

Ihave the newest beta of maxthon and leechget 2004 which work well together and im happy with them. Is leechget (which i think is a very good download manager) worth removing and installing FDM which may not be compatible with maxthon and may not increase download speeds compared to leechget. So should i get FDM?

Hey Zelos!

I use Maxthon 1.0.0178 and it is totally compatible with FDM. Just make sure you have "Browser monitoring" & "Clipboard monitoring" checked in the right click of FDM system tray. I used to use Leechget 2004 and it was a decent programme but i find that FDM suited me better overall. I suggest you give FDM a go, and if you are not satisfied, go back to leechget

Good luck! :D

Chester I tried using FDM but it wasnt compatible with my version of maxthon which is the newest beta (1.0.0220). I had both browser and clipboard monitoring activated and FDM running in the system tray but it wouldnt cacth any download links from any sites including its homepage. Also in the maxthon options I had set to "Do not use a Download Manager". When I used Internet Explorer however it did cacth the links and began downloading. Also when FDM did download a file the transfer rates were pretty low (80-100kbs), Internet Explorer default download manager is faster with (200-300kbs), and Leechget goes from 220-320kbs. BTW im on cable. Does anyone know any thing about this?

I use FDM with maxthon 1.0.250 it works...
If you check "Do not use a Download Manager" probably it is disabled.
