Another huge issue: There is no download basket.

Dear Narayan,

Please kindly specify why do you think this option is important and useful?

Where is the source by the way? Any chance we get that on Github? http://freedownloadmanager.idea.informe ... /?ia=76516

Anyways, very cool, keep the good work.

Dear all,
Unfortunately, we haven't planned to publish the source code of our FDM 5.0 alpha yet, but we will think about that in the future: as soon as the stable version is released and meets the needs of our users. Anyway, great thanks for your willingness to help our project!

Will there be a light version of this when it is released i.e file/video download minus torrent, etc...?

FDM 5 alpha: another look

Postby D. Yessa » Fri Jul 11, 2014 12:02 pm

Dear all,

We continue to expand FDM 5 functionality as well as to simplify its UI.
Here is another version of the main window, without that excessive right panel:

Also you can see tags (labels) that will be added in the near future.

What do you think?

I think I don't need web installer, especially if it is signed by some unknown company. I'd like to download installer once and use it on many systems without digging in temp files.
I think I don't need any web browser to read "licence terms". It should be just text file as standard GNU GPL license is and it should not crash my browser.

One thing I can't stand:

Web installers.

They're another name for "we want to download crap alongside the program.. say hello to toolbars and browser hijacks!"

Web installers - just say NO!

I love Web Installer UI and that Category tab bar! It's look wonderful!!!

But I disagree with what Anonymooose said, I trust you guys will not force user to install those malware or browser hijacker stuff in the new installer!

P/s: You guy should make "All", "Completed", "Paused" and "Downloading" as 4 main tabs.
And those category tabs as a "sub-Tabs" :D

FDM 5.0 sucks. There is no clipboard monitoring, nothing in the right click menu, no advanced settings, the minimum window size is way to big... I can keep going... oh and it's ugly as hell! Going back to 3.9.4.
