You can't have two downloaders set as default, so you should decide which FDM version you want to use for browser monitoring and to associate with torrent extension and magnet links.
Note that creating and deleting such associations may require Administrator privileges, see typical actions listed below:
- Run FDM 3.9.x as Administrator, go to FDM menu Options | Settings | Downloads | Bittorrent, unmark "Associate with torrent files" and "Associate with magnet links" and click "OK"
- Go to FDM menu Options | Settings | Downloads | Monitoring and unmark monitoring for browsers you want to work with FDM 5, click "OK" and close FDM 3.9.x.
- Run FDM 5 alpha as Administrator, enable options that you have just disabled in FDM 3.9.x, save changes and close FDM 5 alpha.
- Run FDM 5 alpha as current user and test if magnet links work OK now.

Video downloads supports only Youtube or other sites too?

3gp 240p is shown 2 times in the available media format. Rest format are fine.

The selection of media is always 1080p i.e 1080p is always checked. Would be better if the selection is the last selection i.e if 720p was selected for the last video then selection for the next video should be 720p.

Why the fdm alpha development is so slow?
FDM already was in alpha for 3-4 years.
This development pace will take years for version 5 final release.

Hello team, I'm a visually impaired user. I had use this software for about 2 years. Unfortunately i encountered a problem after i downloaded FDM 5 installer. I found that, it is not accessible with screen readers. It don't speak or read aloud everything in the installer windows. I hope this issue can be fix. About software UI? still can't comment on it. But i hope you can optimize the UI to be blind friendly and more easier to be understand. thanks in advance. Sorry for my "not too god" English.. Thanks again.

I really think this app has potential and prefer the clean modern look. There are a few issues that I found (as with anything that is alpha).

- The app sometimes crashes when using a magnet torrent link (while its grabbing link data).
- When using Windows with the DPI set to 150% the app still has small fonts and doesn't scale up.
- Torrents download speeds are slow compared to uTorrent in general.
- When downloading a Torrent and restarting my PC there was an occasion (that I cant replicate) where the torrent wouldn't carry on downloading. I had to remove it and re-add the torrent file for it to download (it luckily did carry on from where it left off from).

I'm using this on Windows 8.1 which has the latest patches.

Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to having a play with the next Alpha whenever it is ready.

If you are downloading torrents through fdm, can ISP know you are downloading torrent & restrict the traffic?

Is downloading torrents through fdm anonymous?

Tested the latest alpha.

Video parsing is quick now - Good.
But video download info shows 0 bytes for some videos.
And 3gp 240p is shown double times.

Few Youtube links - FDM shows 0 bytes for videos. And 3gp 240p double times.

"Restriction of download & upload traffic" under Network, is this for Torrent?

And how to disable torrent/torrent association in the GUI?
I always disable torrent/torrrent association as dont want other users to do torrent. This way even if they click magnet/torrent link, nothing happens so I like to disable torrent.

Download Complete confirmation would be good.
Floating window would be good.

The new FDM 5 alpha is too much of file size is there any chance to reduce its file size without compromising the available features and future what in your mind.

Would be good if the online installer shows the full size & download progress size during download/install.
Would be good if there is an offline installer too.
Would there be light version when version 5 final will be released.

Dear User!

We need some link examples to test your problems with downloading the torrent files.
