Consider repackaging FDM for Fedora

Postby validatedev » Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:37 pm

Please allow us using FDM on Fedora or other RPM-based Linux distros. I simply cannot install FDM on Fedora, because it expects RPM, not DEB.

You could try https://www.systutorials.com/how-to-ins ... on-fedora/

I used a slightly different tool to convert .deb to .rpm and installed on Gentoo and it worked perfectly fine.

You could also try Alien, although the forums suggest that as a last resort.

@Alex - would it be possible to put out the source for allowing Linux users to build directly from source, as that would solve the issue of limited direct install ability for folks who don't know how to convert from .deb to .rpm, or use a distro that uses neither as a package manager file type?
