Downloading huge files!

Postby ChieFi » Sat Aug 14, 2004 10:03 am

Try to download following file, which size is approx. 4,3 GB. FDM shows a filesize of 108MB and stops loading at this point.

4096MB + 108MB = Filesize

So I think, FDM is unable to handle files bigger than 4 GB ?

as far as I know Windows can not handle files bigger then 4gb anyway...
its because of 32bit platform phisical limitation. 64bit probably can handle more.

the 4gig file limit is only for fat32. i believe ntfs can support larger files. Anyway the file is only 3.99gig

Correct, NTFS has no problems with larger than 4GB files - as can be attested to by the MANY MANY people who have downloaded and/or created ISO image files of DVDs!
