Re: Problem download filesonic with FDM
Yep same here, can't d/l from Filesonic. It's a real shame as FDM does everything else great, mutiple folders for different downloads, shutdown pc when finished and multiple ways to grab the download.
I suppose it's free and you can't expect much support.

Or it's Filesonic you can't expect much from perhaps.
quote from filesonic...

Can I resume broken downloads?
Yes, but only if you own a Premium account. Premium accounts support the use of download-accelerators which allow you to resume incomplete downloads. They even help you download faster through the use of segmented downloads. This means, you can download the same file with many streams, resulting in increased download-speeds
and...
I cannot download files at all! What's wrong?
If you do not have a FileSonic Premium account, certain restrictions may prevent you from downloading: We do not allow more than one concurrent download per IP address and also limit the amount of data you can download from our servers within a certain timespan. If you share your IP address with other FileSonic users (e.g. because your ISP uses proxies or NAT), you may be adversely affected by their activities.
AND the kicker...
Which download manager should I use?
In order to get the best experience with download managers, we recommend using the latest version of JDownloader. You can download it for free from http://jdownloader.org
Perhaps it's not a coincidence here? A plug for JDownloader maybe? If you search, you will find that more people, even with premium accounts are being restricted to using Jdownloader.
Just my opinion, they are (as many others) scratching each others backs and other downloaders may be a 3rd wheel or unwelcome entity.
Re: Problem download filesonic with FDM
Just piling on the mix. Same here problem downloading...
Re: Problem download filesonic with FDM
Filesonic and cramit both stopped working at the same time so this mght be due to a software upgrade since they both seem to use similar software I bet the core is the same. But cramit started working again since they pump FDM and it has to work with it while filesonic pumps some downloader you have to pay $30 after using it for 30 days. I use jdownloader for now but thats written in JAVA and it slows down the computer during high speed transfers and its not so good when your connection gets dropped 50 times a day. Filefactory also has a simple client now for up and downloading and that works better than most bloated fatware. So I might start using that but you need filefactory. Still its fast and takes very little memory. RSM is not bad now but I dont like it much and even with all the functions it has, I dont trust RS anyway.
I just installed 3.5RC and now filesonic works. I was using 3 something before since I could not find a download link to 3.5rc even with all the news on it until someone posted a link the post. Seems its the first link in the first post in this forum. Dont know how I missed it but when you look hard enough you wont find it. I tired to download using v3 with file sonic a few hours ago and it did not work So I am pretty sure its 3.5 that fixed it but I did write a very nasty message to filesonic. V3 was working and I stopped a download to use the browser and when I went to restart the download it said server cant resume. I tried using IE to log into filesonic web page since thats the only way FDM would work with premium accounts but that did not help and neither did erasing all the passwords and stuff and doing a bunch of stuff and then I tried to download a file with cramit and that also did not work. So I sent cramit a note saying their download recomendation is not working. And later that night I tried cramit again and it worked but not with filesonic.

Re: Problem download filesonic with FDM
Copy filesonic links to the clipboard and then paste directly into FDM and it should work ok, does for me anyway. If you just click on the link and let FDM pick it up then you will get a "bad hash" file returned. Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention that obviously you need a premiun account and so far I don't think there is a way to resume downloads once interupted so it would be a good idea to have a mirror link to continue the download if possible, anyway I am going to try a few thing and will update the post if anything works.
Re: Problem download filesonic with FDM
I just installed 3.7RC and that doesn't work with Filesonic. Maybe I'll give 3.5RC a try, as somebody has suggested.
Internet Download Manager works beautifully with Filesonic, by the way. Filesonic recommends you use the cumbersome Java-based JDownloader to grab their files. I would avoid JDownloader where possible.

Re: Problem download filesonic with FDM
FDM can't work with Filesonic due to bug in their server's code. Why don't you ask Filesonic to fix their bugs instead?
Internet Download Manager does not work "beautifully" with it also. It could not resume stopped download in our tests (we used their premium account).

Re: Problem download filesonic with FDM
I tried to use the new 3.8 beta 2 with my premium account of Filesonic.
Don't work.
I add "www.filesonic.com" and "filesonic.com" in "Sites manager" but I cannot download the file.
JDownloader works fine.
Which is exactly the bug of Filesonic Server?
If you explain more details we can ask as Premium user to fix it.
Thanks.

You can file Filesonic.com advertising on JDownloader.org site. I'm afraid Filesonic webmasters don't do anything to fix their website for other download managers.

What browser do you use?
Please provide step-by-step details on how you add the download from FileSonic to FDM.

It does not accept login info for temporarily generated (by their server) URLs.
For example, you have URL:
http://www.filesonic.com/file/SOME_NUMBER_HERE/file.dat
You can add it in FDM and specify login info - this will work.
But if you add from browser, it sends temporary URL instead, e.g. :
http://s218.filesonic.com/download/SOME ... 045665f8b4.
For such URL it ignores login and sends 403 Bad Hash error. We made workaround, but it works with Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers only.
