Please use version numbers in the name of executable
Please use version numbers in the name of executable
Hi, this is my first post in this forum. I am facing a very annoying issue for a long time which comes from the link of download page http://dn3.freedownloadmanager.org/5/5. ... _setup.exe as for example just now I have downloaded but the version is 5.1.20.5362 which is more than a month old. I assume this is a ISP caching issue & this happens with every software downloading links which are like this link that is the same link for every new version released. I know you people are updating FDM on the server each time but unfortunately myself and many other people on the same ISP (I have confirmed that) are not getting the latest version each time it is released. So the only solution left is to use the version number in the release something like this ---
http://dn3.freedownloadmanager.org/5/5. ... _setup.exe for the latest release. As I have seen that the problem doesn't happens in this type of case as there is no scope for ISP caching.
Waiting for response as any help is appreciated.
Regards

ISP problems are not FDM issues that is between you and your ISP to resolve. Until you talk to your ISP to see what if any they are the cause FDM can't fix ISP problems or blocks.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But I think you completely misunderstood the problem me and many other people are facing.
What I've asked for is to name the executable file like "fdm_5.1.22.5597_x64_setup.exe" Rather than the same "fdm5_x64_setup.exe" which is used until now. I think this step will no way affect the current users and also future users but only assist them positively who want to download from the official FDM website.
Thanks in advance & waiting for your response.
