Re: FDM 5.1
Dear User!Cain wrote:I've set Firefox to 'always ask' for ZIP and RAR files in the 'Choose how Firefox handles the files you download from the web or the applications you use while browsing' settings. This works as advertised unless the FDM extension is active. In this case my setting is ignored and Firefox always opens the 'Save As' file picker.
Currently rolling with 5.1.34.6893 on Firefox 58.0 (64-bit).
Please describe in more details where and what parameters you configure.
Kindly provide us with a screenshot and a link as an example.
Regards,
Clive

YouTube downloads are slow.
72 mbps connection here. I get the download speed 1.5 mbps - 3 mbps.
YouTube downloads speed reduce to 150 kbps - 300 kbps.
any/all youtube downloads start fine upto 15 mb. Once 15 mb of the file is downloaded then speed reduce to 150 kbps - 300 kbps.
Please provide sample URLs where you encountered the issue.

Clive

Can't download the installation files...
Tried to click the link from different browsers and even different computers... Also pasting it to other download managers... but no luck...
Is something broken?
Thank you.

Could you provide the links and the data on your system, browser and FDM version, please?
Re: FDM 5.1
I just posted a ticket on this, and it seems to be the forward slash or other special characters that make the parser in FDM think that it is a folder it is trying to download instead of a file, and a folder that doesn't exist at that. Shows up as 0 bytes on ANY video I tried with a forward slash in it, and from the example videos people have linked, it seems to be a common factor.

I'm using Windows 7 x64 and FDM extension 3.0.6. There is nothing more to it than what I wrote before:

Re: FDM 5.1
Has the "show downloads info while in progress" widget ever been implemented in 5.1? It's been over two years. I check the release notes every so often and I've never seen it. In fact, I never see anything about any of the classic features everybody asked for in the suggestions thread, just "stability" or "bug-fix" updates.
There are conflicts with 3.9.7, so installing 5.1 to check it out is an absolute PITA. Not to mention, every time I have, I'm disappointed that none of the classic features have been integrated, so I have to reinstall 3.9.7 all over again.
Have any of these features (specifically the progress widget) been implemented and for some reason not mentioned in the release notes, or should I get used to the fact that they are never gonna happen and give up on 5.1 altogether?

The possible return of classic features is always on our radar, but bugfixes and stability improvements are a more immediate concern. This situation is unfortunately persistent.
