Re: FDM 3.5 Release Candidate - Does not minimize to tray

Postby hapecat® » Tue Feb 15, 2011 5:44 pm

As you can see in the Startup and System sections, FDM v3.5.954 RC is set to start w/Windows and be minimized to the tray.
But instead it starts minimized to the task bar like any other minimized program.
This behavior is not hurting anything....Its just not minimizing where its supposed to.
What am I missing here?

Informations about OS version and user rights, and maybe many more...
For me - it works for all users with Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP3.

Hi!

I want to ask what is CLI for these functions:
- Download All on Page.
- Download All Video From Page.

I've tried to use this in Opera:

Code: Select all

Item, "Download All with FDM"=Execute program,"program\FDM\fdm.exe","ALL %s"

So FDM starts with correct parameters (since newest Opera snapshot), but it doesn't run download-all-dialog, it just runs and that's it.

1. Close FDM and turn off AV software monitoring.
2. Run regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\FreeDownloadManager.Org and take ownership for this registry key. Then reset user rights to full control for this key and all subkeys. Repeat the same for the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FreeDownloadManager.Org
3. Restart FDM, turn off both options "Load at startup" and "Start minimized", save, then turn them on again, save, and restart the Windows.

If FDM still doesn't start minimized, you should test how it works from a newly created user profile.

Opera resets configuration when installing update. You should turn off and on again FDM monitoring (or reinstall newest oGet plugin) after every Opera update.

No. I do not use oGet. I've added this option in the menu INI manually (it is possible to use more than one command line parameter). And FDM starts with the right options (monitored in AnVir Task Manager), but there is no dialog to load all. So I think those parameters are wrong.

Hi I had problems with FDM on Win7 until I installed in some location (ex: C:\apps\FDM) other than Programs or Program files(x86).
Its working fine since then with no crash or malfuctions.

I was not able to execute this!
I believe you pointed the wrong location for the key, the key is located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FreeDownloadManager.Org and not in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\FreeDownloadManager.Org.
And I don't know I do I take ownership of the registry key. I checked and start minimized value data was seted to 1.

You should run regedit and configure FDM as Administrator.
