FDM is not detecting any browser

Postby SulfuricFahim » Wed Sep 14, 2022 6:39 pm

Hey! I'm trying to use FDM on Kubuntu 22.04 but seems like FDM is not detecting any browser. It's saying that no browser is installed but Firefox (Snap) and Brave (from official repository) are installed on my machine and working perfectly. Yeah, I've installed Plasma Integration extension on Brave, if you're wondering. The FDM extension is also showing nothing other than loading. I'm adding the screenshots down below. Have anyone faced this problem? How can I fix it?

Here's my system info:

Code: Select all

Operating System: Kubuntu 22.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.15.0-41-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics
Memory: 5.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics

You must install FDM using the deb package. The flatpak or snap version is not compatible with the extension because the snap or flatpak version is not maintained by the developers.

Hey! I've tried using the deb version (along with other versions) before posting here but got no luck!

The browser extension does not recognize the snap version of any browser which you are using. you must install the .deb version of a browser. You can't use snap. I tested the .deb version of chrome on kubuntu and it works. you are currently using the snap version of firefox which doesn't work.

Thanks man! I installed Firefox deb version from Mozilla PPA and it's working perfectly now. Much appreciate it!
