Hi!
Firefox releases new versions very often last times, I guess too often.
Besides, there are a lot of unstable versions of alphas and betas, which demand to perform full check testing before including addon into FDM release build.
It will take some time but, now you can try and install new version of addon separately:

I just used Site Explorer in 3.9 RC1 to download 3 BD50 collections. In all three cases it did not download any file larger then ~1.9 GB. One file was 40.3GB and FDM downloaded 341 bytes of it but did not list any errors. Download dir is NTFS with 132GB free.


Any ideas on this? Is this an issue with 3.9?
Or a setting I missed?


Note that "normal" HTTP downloads of large files work fine. I download 10+GB files all the time by right-clicking the link and choosing "Download with FDM." But these directories contain hundreds of files, which means that this really can't be done as a "normal" download.

Please let me know if more info or tests are needed. Thanks!

I compared all server files to download files for all 3 directories. Every file under ~2GB was downloaded, but every file over 2GB was a file containing the HTML code above. The large files that weren't downloaded were between 2.7GB and 40+ GB.

Is there any way to download magnet links with FDM? Or we just wait?

All file hosting services have some limitations for anonymous and logged-in free users. It may be:
- connection speed limit;
- connection count limit;
- max. file size;
- max. total download size per day/week/month;
- timeout depending on download size;
- etc.
It seems that in your case you should register and log in to download very big files from that site. In the worst case you must pay for premium account.
You should always carefully read terms of use before complaining.

It is quite obvious, when you actually read all the important bits, that this is not a site issue, and that the hosting service does not have a limitation on such downloads.

Do you really think I know what your downloads are and why you have noted that they are not "normal" HTTP downloads?

You really need to re-read my original post. It's all in there. My downloads are well explained, both the problematic ones and "normal" ones, and I define "normal" quite clearly.

For one thing, I'm not reporting a bug. I quite clearly asked - posted for the third time now - whether this is a setting I missed. I also asked if more info was needed, or more tests. Rather than asking for more info or tests, you ignored most of my post and jumped to flaming.

You don't need a magic crystal ball, you just need patience and a clue. Go back an re-read my original post. Slowly, and thoroughly. And then if you need more info or tests, let me know and I will happily provide whatever information is needed.

Update: Maxthon3's default is to use the Turbo Mode, which uses Chrome browser. If you switch Turbo Mode off while on the page you want to download from, FDM will work. I have tried getting the Chrome monitoring in FDM to work with Maxthon3 with no success.

So noone can or want help you if you don't want to help yourself. Read "How To Ask Questions The Smart Way", please, before posting any new message.

I have no similar problems with Site Explorer, but there are many problems with file hosting services, so if you don't want to provide URLs for your downloads, I can't help you any more. The only other thing you can do here is to read older topics about server-side, proxy, AV or connection problems, file hosting limitations, etc.

As I said, there is no problem downloading large files using right-click...download with FDM. I can't download large files with Site Explorer. Obviously, this is not a problem with the hosting service.

I'll repeat - obviously this isn't a problem with the hosting service. That is the second time I've posted that now. Maybe you need to go read "How To Read A Forum Post" somewhere.


Further, I posted file permission information. This should be clear enough that this is my own server, and that I have full access to it, and control over it. Also, I said that smaller files are successfully downloaded, this also means that I am registered and can log in. Did you fail to understand? Or did I just have to explain it in simple terms so you'd understand?
