Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
I use Bitdefender Total Security. Not sure how to configure it with FDM but would love to see the integration and a tutorial.
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
To use Windows cmd or PowerShell commands for Kaspersky Security Cloud 21.2 do the following:
Nest the command line in the Kaspersky Security Cloud program file, typically located:
Use the following command:
So I assumed to setup Kaspersky Security Cloud 21.2 the following inputs would be:
Select Antivirus: Configure Manually
Path: C:/Program Files (x86)/Kaspersky Lab/Kaspersky Security Cloud 21.2/avp.com
Arguments: SCAN "%path%"
However, whenever I select the "Perform Virus Check" from the application context menu, I get the notice "There is no antivirus specified in the settings". Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello,
Thank you for the report! This is a bug of Free Download Manager. We'll try to fix it as soon as we can.

Hello,
I use Trend Micro 2020 Maximum Security. It'll be great if you support this.
Thanks.

Thanks for fixing the feature! It seems that Kaspersky Cloud Security will work properly with FDM when configured.
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
I currently use Malwarebytes, best antivirus
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
A known anti-virus I would like to be supported is ESET Internet Security. As far as I know its a good antivirus offering plenty of features. Please consider adding it.
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
Norton
C:/Program Files/Norton Security/Engine/22.21.1.151/navw32.exe (replace '22.21.1.15' with your version number, browse to folder to ensure it is correct)
In the 'Arguments' field ensure there is a space after %path% variable otherwise the scan will not run.

ESET-NOD32, and Trend Micro Maximum Security, and McAfee Total Protection. I don't know the binary paths
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
Hi!
I´m looking forward to see G-Data Antivirus in FDM! I´m using G-Data Total Security. The path to the sirusscanner in my case is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\G DATA\TotalSecurity\AVK
The command line would be something like:
avkcmd /scan:path\file.name

Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
Anyone knows the correct path to be assigned for Bitdefender Total Security. There are too many exe files in the installation directory (See below). I'm clueless as to which one to pick.
Thanks

Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
Alex wrote:Hello,
We're planning to add support of this feature in the upcoming release of FDM6.
Generally, the user will have to specify antivirus manually. For this, he will need to specify path to the antivirus binary file, which supports command line scan, and also specify the command line arguments.
However, FDM6 will also support some "known" antiviruses, so the user will not have to setup all the things, but just choose it from the list instead. Currently, FDM6 supports only these two: Windows Defender and Avast! Antivirus.
We would like to ask our users to tell us about yours favorite antiviruses you would like to use with FDM and write us their parameters: path to the binary and command line args.
Malwarebytes is what I use
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
I´m using Kaspersky on Windows, so the path and parameters should be slightly different to Linux.
The path should be set to (Program Files (x86)) and point to avp.exe under path.
The arguments set to: "scan %path% -i3 -fa -iSwift=on"
So this worked fine for me
The parameters:
-i3 is used for – Disinfect infected objects, delete them if they cannot be disinfected; delete containers completely if infected files inside them cannot be deleted.
-fa is used for – Scan all files (instead of only infectables).
-iSwift=on - use iSwift technology (on/off) - special for NTFS
The complete reference should be found here (is for mac and older, but works fine with avp.exe):

Hope you enjoy and thx for that feature

Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
The setup for Kaspersky worked fine for me, on Windows 7. I used this path: "C:/Program Files (x86)/Kaspersky Lab/Kaspersky Total Security 21.2/avp.exe".
