The add-on for IE was installed only for user Administrator.
Hello!
Could you please go to the Manage Add-ons menu, expand it, and send us a screenshot?

(from this menu, but please expand it first)
Additionially, if you have the "Enhanced protected mode" enabled in IE -- the plugin won't work, it's not compatible with this mode as of now.
This problem is clear:

Ok, got it,
The problem is -- you ran the installer without administrative privileges,
Please right-click the installer and choose "Run as administrator", then everything will be installed correctly for all users.
We'll add it to the list of issues,
Thank you for the report!

I think the installer should elevate privileges himself

It seems that with FDM add-on in IE does not open some pages.
For example - https://www.mediafire.com/folder/2324w3 ... All_models

I'm using on Windows 7 64bit
1. Just doesn't work on Chrome Version 40.0.2214.45 beta-m (64-bit). Doesn't capture downloads or videos. No right click FDM option or should I say there is "download with FDM" only on links, but it doesn't actually download with FMD, if you press the button it just downloads the index page within Chrome.
2. Doesn't work on Firefox 35.0. The plugin is incompatible with 35.0, so it didn't even install on the browser, obviously no right click FDM option and tried to download just to see if there is some monitoring apart from the plugin and no luck, doesn't capture downloads or video.
However, we tested it with Chrome 40 x64 beta, and the FDM plugin performed just fine,
Can you see "fdm_nativehost.exe" in the list of running processes? This might be an issue related to your antivirus.
Google Chrome browser was over 2 years in public beta, did you have plugin support for it then in FDM 3? So that is not an excuse. The 64bit version of Chrome has been in beta for over 1 year and you still don't have a plugin for it. Nothing more than a useless excuse for incompetence.

Re: FDM 5.0 alpha
Well, I can confirm it's perfectly working on Chrome x64 DEV v41. Sometimes I get a little delay to show the add download dialog, but works flawlessly after that (and the delay is very rare, probably related to slow server response than FDM itself).
I'm very pleased with the new alpha build. Congratulations guys, it's shaping up to be the nicest download manager of 'em all! Really enjoying the design choice! Currently FDM is the only download manager with a modern look that suits Windows 8/10 - all others look more XPish than 7ish, and that's sad. And I see people complaining on this thread that they want the classic outdated look again... That's even sadder. New UI is very fitting for new systems and I applaud you guys for that. Brilliant piece of software
That being said... are the alpha builds going to be coming at a steady pace again now, like they were around September?
Also, can I suggest you add a "clean completed / failed downloads" button? The trash bin icon currently deletes files from disk, I think a second one (maybe a broom icon? or a "verified" icon) to only clean the whole list would make a nice addition.
Thank you so much for your work and for making it available for us for free!

Re: FDM 5.0 alpha
In windows 10 64bit.
1. Firefox 34.0.5 - The extension installed correctly, there is right click option to download video with FDM and when you right click on a link option to download with FDM. There is no "download all" option.
The "download video with FDM" works on several websites I've tested, though I haven't tested extensively, mostly known porn and social video websites. Youtube isn't one that works though, so the right click option doesn't work with youtube videos, though you can drag or paste the youtube url to FDM and it will capture the video and its several options.
The "download with FDM" when you click on a link doesn't capture programs. I've tried it on filehippo.com when I hover over the download link and right click download with FDM it only downloads the page index file, instead of the program itself. The right click option works in other websites and is able to capture the program on download.com and softonic.com
The download hover option does show when there is video playing, again I've only tested known porn and social video websites, if previous versions are to go by it probably doesn't show on several less known websites.
2. Internet Explorer 11 - Weirdly it does seem to function on IE11 on windows 10, while it had a major bug that made it unusable on win7.
Unfortunately there is no right click options for video or otherwise, I've tested on two porn websites for the video option and I've tested on 3 download websites for the other option and its only available when you click on a link.
When I try to download a program from a link on filehippo.com or download.com through the right click menu it opens up FDM UI, then it hangs the browser itself for a while and then it shows a message that FDM is not properly installed or not installed or something of that nature.
When I try to download the program normally, meaning just left clicking on the download link it downloads the program properly and fully.
3. Selecting multiple files is absurd. When I click a file it should just hover over it, but when I click on the box it should select that file. Right now clicking on the box is same as clicking on the file itself, meaning it only hovers over the file, it doesn't select it. The way to select multiple files is by holding down "shift" or "ctrl" which is pretty absurd way of doing things. Also I can't select files at all when holding down "shift or ctrl" and press over the check boxes.
4. When you have certain files selected and you right click on a file that isn't selected it deselects the files that were selected. One would think right clicking the file wouldn't select it. Again this comes back to the terrible way of selecting files in the first place.

How to disable torrent support? Its always open torrent files in spite of system integretion with uTorrent, very annoying!
Re: FDM 5.0 alpha
Sorry for bad English....
But I don't think it goes well with IE. Because I tried to download a video on Youtube -just testing- but it kept "Searching flash video" like forever....and I had to shut it down using Task Manager. And another problem is the Free Download Manager doesn't appear on the context menu. But it's going well with Firefox and Flash Got add-on....

Hello!
Are you working under a user with administrative privileges?
If not, then it's a known bug with our installer, thank you for the report,
The workaround is simple -- just enable IE integration manually in the Settings.
However, if you are an administrator, please let us know as this would be a bug.

Hello!
That's a problem with our installer, it doesn't give you the option to choose. We have added it to the list of things that should be present in the next installer.
Next time you launch utorrent, it should ask you to make utorrent the default torrent manager again, click Yes and the problem will be gone.
Thank you for the feedback!

Hello!
Thank you for the suggestion ("clean completed/failed download" button), this indeed seems useful, added it to our TO-DO list.
And thank you for your kind words,
"are the alpha builds going to be coming at a steady pace again now, like they were around September?" -- we sure hope so, yes.
