PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
The update solved it, many thanks for the help!
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Using v5 Alpha, Firefox updates to 36 and the plugin stopped working again. Downloading latest FDM 5 alpha and re-installing it did not fix the problem.
I am curious -- it appears that the plug-in is coded to work in only one version of Firefox. If Firefox updates (even a minor one), it immediately disable the plug-in. I can't believe a minor Firefox update would stop FDM from working. Can this be fixed once for all?

No. I AM curious why you haven't read carefully the FDM FAQ for Firefox troubleshooting. The messages you should read are so old that they are listed on the last page of search results, but they are regularly updated.Guest wrote:Using v5 Alpha, Firefox updates to 36 and the plugin stopped working again. Gosh, Firefox upgraded from 36.x to 37.0 and the good ol' FDM is disabled again. What a party pooper Firefox is nowadays. What's wrong with that thing??
Kudos to the programmers for the 3.9.5 RC build 1526!!

What FDM version and build?divisi wrote:Gosh, Firefox upgraded from 36.x to 37.0 and the good ol' FDM is disabled again
It's still the same - old FDM builds have too low maxVersion in install.rdf. See FDM FAQ for Firefox troubleshooting.divisi wrote:What's wrong with that thing??
This build works for me with Firefox 37.divisi wrote:Kudos to the programmers for the 3.9.5 RC build 1526!!

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
FDM 3.9.5.1530 will still produce 2 folders in %appdata%. The FreeDownloadManager.ORG folder is not in use though, and again Why??
Any chance to support Firefox 39.0?? The FDM extension is broken in nightly builds.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
The FDM plugin is not working for the latest firefox version 37. so I start to search some solution for now until the FDM release the update and found one particular plugin that makes the FDM working for now. Here is the link for the plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... ter-tools/
After installed just go on "Tools" > "Nightly tester tolls" > and then click on "Force addon compatibitity".
Restart and its working again for now.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
You already KNOW the answer so why are you asking again and again? It's neither a security problem nor a bug so it won't be changed in the nearest future.Guest wrote:FDM 3.9.5.1530 will still produce 2 folders in %appdata%. The FreeDownloadManager.ORG folder is not in use though, and again Why??
FDM never supported Firefox nightly (alpha) builds. If you are advanced enough to test alpha builds you should already know how to manually edit install.rdf and how to properly report problems (links are provided in my signature). Could you show your older detailed reports from testing Firefox nightly builds, please? Or maybe you could show your messages with detailed helpful hints or suggestions? Yours, not from some anonymous guests, please?Guest wrote:Any chance to support Firefox 39.0?? The FDM extension is broken in nightly builds.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Can someone please provide me the download link for the extension for firefox ?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Extension for Firefox is provided only with FDM installer. It's been explained long time ago why it's the best distribution method. Now I can only add that currently two different lines of FDM development are available and it's very possible that plugin working with FDM 3.9.5 won't work with FDM 5 preview and vice versa.

Hi everybody !
I have an issue of Netleaks that FDM "might be" responsible of :
I do have huge ULeaks and when I shut down FDM app (FF plugin still active), a big amount went down but not all. I wonder if the Torrrent feature of FDM have something to do with this ! or anything else ?
Best regards,
iBenny

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Could you still follow the reporting rules, please? Is this report from your (somehow misconfigured) Windows XP or some other PC? Could you find PC which have never had problems with monitoring Firefox from FDM and send reports only from that working flawlessly system?iBenny wrote:I do have huge ULeaks and when I shut down FDM app (FF plugin still active), a big amount went down but not all. IMHO it's anything else, probably video monitoring and Firefox still caching multimedia streams.iBenny wrote:I wonder if the Torrrent feature of FDM have something to do with this ! or anything else?

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Sorry ! I should have added :
XP Pro SP3 + FF 38.0.1 + FDM 3.9.5.1542
FDM works fine and I have recently updated it with the Torrent feature to download a big torrent file.
The graph above above shows an UL leak (green) ! not a DL (red) ! so, it's not a streaming leftover video because these are DL, not UL !
I am writing from my secondary XP Pro where I want to get rid of the UL leak !
Best regards
iBenny

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
Just explain your acronyms, please, no need to play with fonts and colors. You should better write "uploads" and "downloads" in full words at least once - two-letter acronyms and words are ignored by the search engine of the forum so it will be very difficult to find your message/topic in the future.Guest wrote:The graph above above shows an UL leak (green) ! not a DL (red) ! so, it's not a streaming leftover video because these are DL, not UL !
Uploads from FDM of course exist, but not necessary because of torrent activity - they are explained in FDM FAQ. Uploads from Firefox also exist (f.e. profile synchronisation, health report) and they should be explained in Mozilla documentation, of course.

Re: PLEASE put up all FDM and Firefox problems here!
It's clean install and 29b1 tells me that FDM extensions 1.6.0.1 is not supported, then I edit the C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\Firefox\extension\install.rdf, set the maximum version to 30.
After then,I enable FDM extensions in Firefox.the First time I download using "Download with Free Download Manager" will warns me that.
