Re: FDM 5.1
chrome doesn't relay the downloads to FDM and sometimes does but then it tries to download it on the browser too "the fdm pops-up but chrome also downloads the same file"

best team!!!
Re: FDM 5.1
After downloading a file, if you select the folder icon to go to the download folder, it it will create multiple instances of that folder for every file you download and navigate to via that folder icon. Before I know it, my desktop toolbar is cluttered/overrun with multiple instances of the same folder.
If that is happening by design, can we at least get the option to stop it?

Re: FDM 5.1
Sometimes FDM really slows down.
I was at Youtube, and downloaded this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUNLDqcXG-Q
The estimated time for the FDM download was 3 mimutes and 14 seconds for a 34.9 mb file. It get s to about 39% pretty quick, but then drops down significantly after that.
The same file was download by Eagleget in less than 10 seconds.
I tested this multiple times with FDM and Eagleget with pretty much the same results.

Re: FDM 5.1 youtube MPEG DASH

1. It's either deliberate slowing down by the Youtube site (reported also by users of other download managers) or random slowing down caused by your ISP (do you use connection from cable TV provider?).
In the first case you can check what User-Agent string is passed by your FDM to the website. In the second case you should observe that sometimes youtube (and other) videos are very slow also when played in your web browser.
2. You haven't provided full data. It looks like in FDM you have downloaded MPEG DASH video 480p with separate video and audio stream. It will be always longer to download video in better quality and merge streams after download…
In Eagleget you have probably downloaded 360p video and the same download in FDM goes as fast as in Eagleget, as I have checked for both 480p and 360p in FDM.
Conclusion: Youtube may really slow down downloads for MPEG DASH videos in separate streams.

Out programmers stated that this is how YouTube gives away files. Nothing can be done about it, except for pressing pause and resuming several times.
Re: FDM 5.1
I use the latest versions of both portable Firefox quantum beta 63.013b and portable Google Chrome.
I can install the FDM addons on both, the FDM button appears on the taskbars of each browser, but FDM doesn't appear on the context menu and wont capture anything unless I copy the url and manually add it in the FDM interface.
The FDM browser integration settings say Firefox and Chrome are not installed. I assume the problem is because of they portable.
I know that in the past there has been a history of issues with browser integration, but I have always used portable versions of Firefox, and it has worked with FDM.
Eagleget integrates and works with bot Firefox and Chrome and no problem.

Re: FDM 5.1
Why is that Video DownloadHelper can capture file types/videos from sites that FDM cannot?
Example:

We'll look into that.
Re: FDM 5.1
Follow up on my previous post.
I reinstalled FDM, and now it is displayed on my Firefox context menu, but there is no toolbar button. Is that the way it is supposed to be?
Also, on one of my profiles, I just got an update to Free download manager extension 3.0.6, but my other profiles still won't update beyond Free download manager extension 3.0.1.1.
I couldn't find it anywhere for manual download.

Re: FDM 5.1
It looks like you have reinstalled old FDM build rather than the newest one. You should turn off off the browser monitoring in FDM, uninstall it and only then install the newest build. Read carefully my older message: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16047&start=600#p45786 if you have still problems.oroville wrote:Follow up on my previous post.
