Grab features from other open source downloaders !

Postby forart.eu » Thu Aug 16, 2007 10:00 am

Hi guyz, i'm glad of your open source joining, so here's some suggestions (due to the license compatibility):

1. check out aria2, it has the *very* interesting download one file from multiple URLs feature;
2. check out DownThemAll!, it would be great to have an "extension version";
3. check out TrueDownloader, that has interesting approach around file download infos.

Last but not least, it would be great to have a multiplatform download manager, expecially for:

- Haiku
is an open source operating system currently in development designed from the ground up for desktop computing. Inspired by the Be Operating System, Haiku aims to provide users of all levels with a personal computing experience that is simple yet powerful, and void of any unnecessary complexities.

- ReactOS (well, not exactly a port)
an advanced free open source operating system providing a ground-up implementation of a Microsoft Windows® XP compatible operating system. ReactOS aims to achieve complete binary compatibility with both applications and device drivers meant for NT and XP operating systems, by using a similar architecture and providing a complete and equivalent public interface.

note: i can't post links 'cause your board says that is spam... :?

1. aria2: you mean metalink? implemented.
2. use the flashgot plugin
3. wouldn't count on "these" features

Multiplattform: MUCH WORK.
