I'll second this. Ability to download large files, videos without interruption (due to expired links, connection issues etc) should have top priority in the features list. Those of us on limited bandwidth can least afford splurging on data and, can only acquire large downloads over a day or two (or more) -- which means the download should be able to resume after system sleep/hibernation/shutdown/network issues etc.

Personally, I've had a few download failures with the earlier versions, mostly YouTube videos which refuse to resume and you're forced to start over (and this usually happens when a large chunk of the download is already done)

Thanks

Thank you for the feedback.
We are going to add features from the Voting list to FDM 5.
Also, we support both FDM versions. So, you can choose the version you prefer.

Regards,
Clive

What do you mean with "support both FDM versions" ?
Browser integration with chrome on FDM 3.9.x will lead user to install Free Download Manager Chrome extension 2.1.14 from chrome store, and the Free Download Manager Chrome extension 2.1.14 is need FDM 5 to work (a must!).

Now I have both FDM 3.9.x and FDM 5 installed. The bad thing is even now Free Download Manager Firefox extension is using FDM 5 too (it used to be using 3.9.x before I install FDM 5). It's kinda like you tell me to use FDM 5 and leave/forget the 3.9.x.

Overall both FDM 3.9.x and FDM 5 are great! :D
Thank you for all FDM developers. I've been using FDM for years.

And my vote for FDM 5 is:
1. Smaller size. Currently the size is almost as big as browser(Firefox or Chrome).
2. Less memory consumption.
3. Query Size for scheduled download. It help me to determine download priority (smallest first and biggest last).
4. Can handle expired links, connection issues, etc. Those of us on limited bandwidth can least afford splurging on data and can only acquire large downloads over a day or two (or more). Many sites have expiring their download links.

Sorry, I forgot one more thing...
5. It would be wonderful if user can set default folder for each tags.

Thank you :)

Hola.
Voto por añadir aquella funcionalidad que permite a FDM 3.9 guardar cada archivo descargado en la carpeta correspondiente según su extensión.

Hi, using version 3.9.7 build1627 because there is a lot of features than 5.1

It would be amazing if you modify the software to include features:
- refresh broken link automatically or manually.
- adding timing data (day, hours of the start..) on exported download list will help us a lot (how it works now: after you export your download list, you have to do schedule it again for the new computer, it s very annoying on a queue of 50 files)

thx

1. Personalized plugins (modular structure)
2. Mega support
3. RC in a android/ios/wp app
4. CLI interface (better to workaround :v)
5. 2, 3, 4 maybe implementable using the 1 suggestion

Dear User!

Could you kindly describe the feature in more details?
Actually, FDM already contains a torrent client, and you can download torrents using FDM.

Clive
