Download files sequentially?
Download files sequentially?
Hi,
Is there a simple way to download a list of files sequentially in FDM?
What I want to do is add a list of files to download, and have FDM download them one at a time. For example, if I add 3 files, the 2nd file should begin downloading only when the 1st file is completely downloaded, and the 3rd file should begin downloading only when the 2nd file is completely downloaded.
What I tried was to schedule the 2nd, and 3rd downloads, and set them to download "On event : When no active downloads". This seemed to work but it seems there's a bug with this feature. When all downloads are complete, the first scheduled file (the 2nd file in my example) begins downloading again ! While doing this it overwrites the existing completely downloaded file.
I think this is the same issue posted in this thread :
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=175
but there were no replies.
Also, I noticed that after a while of downloading, the download speed suddenly drops to 0 bytes, and the download is in fact stopped, even though the 'In Progress' arrow icon is displayed. Again, I think this has been discussed before, here : http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=150
The original poster there reported this problem with version 1.0 build 181, and Alex replied that this would be fixed in the next version, but I'm using Version 1.0 build 194, and the problem still seems to exist. Maybe it has not been fixed yet?
Any comments from the author would be welcome.
Thanks,
Mario

Funny - I answered the same question in a german forum a few minutes ago.
Okay, here's a workaround:
Add your downloads with the "Start"-option "Manually".
Go to the Download options (Ctrl+O) and set "Maximum numbers of running downloads" to 1.
Select your downloads and use the context menu option "Start downloads automatically".
It should start and work now!
I have your described bug here, too (1.0.194). It should be fixed in the next version.
