FDM 6.14.1.3935 - window closes after download starts?
FDM 6.14.1.3935 - window closes after download starts?
Since FDM 6.14.1.3935 (Windows 10), I've noticed a different behaviour when FDM accepts downloads.
Starting with FDM minimized, prior to FDM 6.14.1.3935 when downloading a file, after confirming filename and download folder in the "New Download" prompt, FDM would stay in the forefront.
In the same scenario now, FDM reverts to a minimized window while downloading the file, and then generates a notification once download is complete.
I don't recall seeing this behaviour change in the release notes, so I'm asking here to verify.
I don't mind the new behaviour, but it would be nice to make it optional via Preferences.

Yes, it is new, and I for one absolutely prefer it this new way.
I do agree, though, that this should be a user-selectable option.

Hello,
Lot of options confuses users...

Fewer options also drive away users when they cannot change something that they don't like.
But, it's your app.
- A wiki explaining how to set / use any option is probably a good thing.
- As would a FAQ that is actually current again in terms of covering FDM current and its history,.
- As well as a troubleshooting FAQ
- Even a "How to ask for help" FAQ that isn't buried in the forums where only a fraction of your users come to post in the first place.
But, it's your app.

Hello,
Yes, this is true also. Recently we've released FDM6 user interface's source code on GitHub. Anyone can implement any options he wants. And even share his modifications with other users and even (probably) include them into official builds by creating git pull requests.
