Nora wrote:hi i use fdm on windows before switching to linux, is there any plan on supporting/releasing on flatpak officially? current build on flathub is unofficial & outdated. i know there is a problem with flatpak browser extension integration (seems like fdm not the only one thats affected), but i still would like fdm to officially support flatpak because not everyone use ubuntu. the other alternative download manager are just kinda unappealing to me.

Hello,
Sorry, currently we do not have any plans to add flatpak support.
As an experienced user (I think all Linux users are) you should be able to convert DEB to any format you like or even just manually unpack and use it. I'm not a Linux expert, maybe I'm wrong :) Convince me then. :)

Hello,
Just buy a new keyboard. For now, we have no plans to improve the INSERT key support.
Our product is absolutely free and thus we have a limited budget.
I think we can afford to implement your personal needs if you can afford to donate appropriate $. :)

its not personal need it will become common issue over time. thanks i will buy another keyboard, even more compact.

tbh im not experienced user, just use linux this year, while on personal pc i do use linux mint now (after initial request), steamdeck is another story, which is why i try requesting that in the first place.

Hi. on freedownloadmanager 6.23 on Linux Mint 21.3 didn't start correctly (on start menu or via terminal /opt/freedownloadmanager/fdm). But i have workaround to solving this. it's just need install libxcb-cursor0 (sudo apt install libxcb-cursor0) and freedownloadmanager can start normally.

when downloading some files in linux with the new version, it just use one thread to do the job.
old version ones can do the same thing using muti threads.

Dear Developers;
When you plan to bring back "download it" button over web players for ie, edge, chrome and firefox and its allied.

OR if it is not possible then add a feature for video sniffer, so that it will capture available media and while select and click on download start the download process.

This is important due to
1. it will reduce contextclick workflow because some times it is very annoying.
2. if the contextclick is disable for some sites it is very much impossible to download videos from that sites

I think this should be there in the current sprint.

Thanks

Hello,
If it does, then there is a reason. I can't tell you anything without details.

i tried to download this link "https://dlied4.aly.tcdnos.com/myapp/1104466820/cos.release-40109/10040714_com.tencent.tmgp.sgame_a3200431_9.4.1.7_mN23tP.apk?mkey=lego_ztc&f=00&sche_type=7&cip=114.246.237.123&proto=https&access_type=&tx_domain=dlied4.myapp.com&tx_path=%2Fmyapp%2F1104466820%2F&tx_id=6c9382a8c8" with version 6.24.0.5818 in debian, arch and fedora, it just start one thread.
version 6.19.1.5263 worked perfect.
by the way ,when i update 6.19.1.5263 to 6.24.0.5818 in debian the terminal shows warnings like below
"Warning: The postinst maintainerscript of the package freedownloadmanager
Warning: seems to use apt-key (provided by apt) without depending on gpg, gnupg, or gnupg2.
Warning: This will BREAK in the future and should be fixed by the package maintainer(s).
Note: Check first if apt-key functionality is needed at all - it probably isn't!"

What I personally had noticed after using FDM for sometime now is, after building multiple connections during downloads specially in large files 1GB and up. After connections finish downloading parts of the file, then they drop and aren't reused or new ones are built to keep downloading other parts/segments of the file which will improve the download completion. Most of the times I've started downloading files which will built up to 15 connection counts, and after each one completes its segment they start dropping down until only 1 connection count is used and still the file downloading process might be half way completed.

I use FDM in MacOS by the way. Perhaps, the way it works is differently to Windows OS. I can't tell if in Windows it does the same thing, however that's the behavior I personally notice when using it on this platform. Hopefully this can be improved in future updates, so FDM can be more dynamic when it comes to reusing connections or intelligently building new ones if there's still a fair amount of the file to be downloaded.

Hello,
I didn't get it. Works fine for me (sorry). It should create more connections in your case. Could you please make a video demonstrating this issue?
