Unfortunately, the current FDM5 version doesn't support Win10 insider. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can anyone answer this one ? I'd just like to know given that there hasn't been much recent activity on sourceforge.
Thanks.
Sorry for the late response. Currently, our team is working on a cross-platform version of FDM5. We're planning to release FDM5 for Mac in the nearest future. So, the new source code may be published with the new release.

However I would like to:
1 - Drag and drop directly from the main screen.
2 - Resize to smaller sizes than it's possible now.
Thank you for the feature suggestion. It has been forwarded to our devs team. While the 'Drag&Drop' option is already being worked on, the integration of the latter one is still undecided.

Guest wrote:Congratulation for this new version. It look quite easy to use and bundle with feature. However, the following feature are welcome.
Firstly : Silent mode download.
when clicking on the file to be downloaded, the download should start imediately to the default folder without prompting me to click on the download button in FDM (even though FDM is minimize to tray or not).
An option in the setting menu should be available which allow us to choose from Automatic download(explained above) or Choose a different already assigned folder if needed.
Secondly : A more appropriate option to schedule download at any requested time / date
Thank & regards

Add a keyboard button to let the browser take over the download e.g. CTRL+click the link. I know the Cancel button in the Add download box does that, but let that one do what it should do: cancel the download.
For instance, sometimes I just want to query the size of the file, and when I 'cancel' the download starts in the browser.
And if I disable that in Monitoring, there is no way to pass the download to the browser.
In either case something clicks!
Thank you for the suggestion.

Hello guys!
I've been using FDM for more than 6 years.. thanks!
I'm still "cautious" to jump to FDM 5, because the current lack of FDM 3 features on it prevents me.
I loved the Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V function, though.
Is the site explorer, scheduler and web spider a possible feature on FDM 5?
Correct me if this is the wrong forum. Didn't find topics about it.
There's no way I'm the only one who liked those functions..

Thank you for the feedback. While the Download Scheduler feature is going to be implemented in the next FDM5 release, the other two suggestions (Site Explorer and Web Spider) have been forwarded to our team for consideration.

Hopefully, the new version will be released before the end of the year.
Re: FDM 5 Preview
Great looks although my suggestion would be keep most of the original FDM 3 and prior looks and functions but update the UI especially the context menus to a modern interface, like the one on this preview release. That would be great

I'm a big fan of FDM from my Windows days
I'm now a big Linux fan, but not really liking what's available for download managers within Linux distros
I've tried uGet; KGet; DownThemAll; FlareGet etc.. but none of them have the same useful functionality that comes with FDM...
Please can someone look into bringing FDM to the Linux world
Thanks

Currently, our team is working on the cross-platform version of FDM5. We're planning to release FDM5 for Mac in the nearest future. Then, maybe, we will focus on the version for Linux.
Re: FDM 5 Preview
If you are still going to use Chromium Embedded Framework, you should move to CEF3, I think. CEF1 is buggy and no longer actively developed or supported, while CEF3 has performance similar to Google Chrome so FDM 5 should be much faster. I have tested CEF3 sample apps and they work also with Windows XP SP3 at least for build 2454 (CEF 3.2454.1344.g2782fb8), so there is no reason to stay with CEF1 IMHO.Clive Sorensson wrote:Currently, our team is working on the cross-platform version of FDM5. Thank you for the advice. You're absolutely right, CEF3 proves much better performance, so we're already working with it. The next FDM5 release will be based on CEF3.
Re: FDM 5 Preview
First of all, a fundamental option is missing in Settings: set default download directory. Without this, there is no true "silent monitoring". I mean, one has to confirm every time a download starts, even if and when the app is meant to be hidden in the taskbar. Or am I missing something?
