Total Connections Capped to 10 (limit set 500) when IDM can use full 32
There is a serious issue. i have kept priority "high" and traffic limits as 500 connections per link.
Even if I have set 500 connections, why is my download capped at 10 connections per file? You can't say that its so because that server only limits upto 10 connections per file (which is not the case, because I can access 32 connections on the same link using IDM. Please check 1.png
Second, the matter is worse if i download using youtube where it limits to 2 connections per server, by virtue of which I could only download max at 1/3 rd of my internet speed. I mean what's wrong? All the time on all download managers i could download at their maximum allocated connection number, but in FDM I am always blocked to 10 (and 2, when it comes to youtube).

500 simultaneous connections is very very high.

Isn't 10 too low? At least they FDM could have had 16 (half of IDM) or 25 (half of BitComet).
Secondly, if its maximum ability is to split to 10 only, then why make false promises that you can split upto 500? This is annoying!

FDM6 will have internal limit of max connections per server set to 20.
Why do you want more? Does it (using >10 connections) really help you to increase the speed of downloading?

The problem here more connections doesn't equate to faster download. For that it will be your ISP bandwidth restrictions. If you have a Fiber connections you will get downloads faster using FDM then on Cable or DSL. But if the site your connected to has bandwidth restriction no amount of more connections will give you faster download.

Hi Alex,
I have just started using your Download Manager due to a technical problem my service provider has had for two weeks now.
I have supposedly a 500Mbit/s Fiber Option Connection.
It used to work close to that, but now, on some servers, usually transatlantic, i only get 3Mbit/sec PER CONNECTION
So when use the setting Maximum Connections per server=200, i only get 20 connections for my download (once a week i jhave to download a work file of 8GB) which gives me a 60Mbit/sec download.
My guess is, if the Download Manager didnt make that limitation, i could get much faster speeds.
Is there any way i can override the limitation, or would you be able to change it ?
Kind Regards,
Gunnar

i only use 1 connection per server to download files and i am getting full speed set by ISP.

Hello,
There is no way for now. We'll think about it.

I'd like to also request for an ability to use more than 20 connections!
I must download several 100GB files from my own server every day.
I realize there's concern about DoS attacks and abuse, but since I have complete control of my server, it would be excellent if I could employ the number of connections actually displayed in the UI. Perhaps an unpublished config value?
Since each connection is throttled (by a load-balancer outside my control), being able to add more directly improves download speed, which is the entire reason I'm using FDM.
