Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
Hey. That's a great feature, but the virus scan takes a long time. (Example: Kaspersky Total Security) It is much longer than the manual file scan. If you fix that, everything will be good.
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
Could it be that you need to add some parameters to help scan the file faster (like don't scan the system memory / system files also, just the file in question)?

So, just for posterity's sake, let me start by saying: Although I have been a βeta tester for MB for a very long time now (since Marcin, the original developer, was in high school), I'm not actually employed by nor receive any compensation from them as a company.
That being said, in case anyone wants to doubt me, you can check out my profile page at the MB forums:
https://forums.malwarebytes.com/profile ... hn-l-galt/
Now, as for MB not being for viruses - sure, if you go back to versions 0.x and 1.x and (marginally) 2.x.
Otherwise, you might take a look at their web page again.
https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium
Click on Personal, and read what it says exactly under the Malwarebtyes logo.
Then you can click on Malwarebytes for Windows or Malwarebytes for Mac and you'll see them advertising virus protection directly.
Another thing - it's MALWARE (only one letter 'E' in it, not 2). And Malware is a very broad category that INCLUDES viruses. And Trojans. And worms. And Ransomware. And so many other threats in today's digital world.
So, uh, maybe you want to rethink that. It's changed a lot in just a couple of years.

Kaspersky Security Cloud

We're planning to add support of this feature in the upcoming release of FDM6.
Generally, the user will have to specify antivirus manually. For this, he will need to specify path to the antivirus binary file, which supports command line scan, and also specify the command line arguments.
However, FDM6 will also support some "known" antiviruses, so the user will not have to setup all the things, but just choose it from the list instead. Currently, FDM6 supports only these two: Windows Defender and Avast! Antivirus.
We would like to ask our users to tell us about yours favorite antiviruses you would like to use with FDM and write us their parameters: path to the binary and command line args.
Eu uso o MalwareBytes atualmente, mas já usei antivírus como Comodo, AVG, 360 total security.
Re: FDM6: Assign a virus scanner to scan each downloaded file
Hello! I use Malwarebytes and by default, it is not recognized or listed. How do I properly set it up?
I tried adding the path to the Malwarbytes app (mbam.exe) in the Path field and left the Arguments field as is ("%path%"). What happened after downloading an item was that it booted Malwarebytes to perform a scan, but instead of scanning the downloaded item only, it scanned the entire PC. How do I rectify this? I'm not very knowledgeable with scripts and what have you, so a step by step instruction would be greatly appreciated by us who are not well versed in this area. Thank you in advance
