Hello,
I hope the version with Youtube support will be released in the end of this month or at least in June. This does not depend on me. All major tasks are completed already and generally FDM6 can already be used for Youtube downloads, but some minor tasks are still in progress.

The program window is smaller than early, ok good thing
but the best is a window resizable in any size

then we want to able move, add or delete fields of the columns.
I like to have the speed of download as last column.

and at least the definition caracter appears not very definite

Does this version have any changes to saving downloads - I think FDM is great, and does what other often paid download managers I have tried do. However one thing that is missing and I have previously mentioned in a feature request is a better way to save files.

Currently when I try to download a file via Chrome and FDM picks it up it I can browse and see folders but nothing else. In other download managers I have tried when a download is detected by the download manager it usually gives an option to download, queue etc. and to browse - hitting browse will bring a windows dialog where you can see folders but also importantly files - this allows you for example to find a specific file and select it and then tell the download manager to overwrite it. If you instead prefer to save the download filenames with the version number in the name in the browse window you can delete the previous version first.

I hope this makes sense - it's the only feature for me I find missing currently.

I just received three"download complete" notifications on Youtube. One well before the download was complete, the second when the download was complete, the third after the download was complete.

Why can the user adjust the width of the interface, but not the height? Whether I have my desktop toolbar on the top or the bottom, FDM does not fit on the screen, partially hiding under the toolbar. The only way it fits is if it is maximized. I don't always want to have it maximized.

I use Firefox portable. The setting says Firefox (and Chrome) is not installed. Is the setting "Intercept downloads in your web browser" there to counteract that?

You used to be able to choose downloads from the toolbar icon, but no longer. Is that by design? Is the onky way to download from the page context menu?

I've recently moved to a new home, and I am in the process of wiring the home for my fiber connection. In the meantime, I've been using my Sabayon Linux-based laptop, but have completely forgotten about FDM for *nix - I'm about to install it now on Sabayon and start using it.

As always, I'm running Firefox nightly (binary direct from Mozilla) as well a Chrome stable for my browsers, even on this Sabayon build.

I have not run into any real issues yet, but will post if I do.

Thanks, again, Alex and all the devs here at FDM.

So far, so good - FDM 6.2 Alpha latest, Firefox Nightly 69.0a1 (2019-06-23) (64-bit), and running in Sabayon Linux (Gentoo derivative).

I had to manually extract the files from the .deb cpio but other than that no issues thus far - FDM loads automatically at startup and everything I have thrown at Nightly to DL (thus far) has been captured by FDM.

Great to see the familiar DLM on my Sabayon laptop, now, too.

:!: One note: When run for the first time, the default size dialog box shows info pane at the bottom, but it is truncated, and if one tries to adjust the height without making the whole window larger, it does nothing - you see the cursor change to the cursor the system has set for altering the user that the area is resizable (typically conjoined up/down arrows for vertical resizability and conjoined left/right arrows for horizontal resizability) but nothing actually happens when you try to drag the info window up to show the partially hidden information.

It would be good if the arrows did not indicate resizability when it cannot actually be resized.

It would be even better if a small popup would explain to the user that in order to see the information / resize the info pane, you need to make the whole window larger.

Of course, I can also see validity in simply having the info show completely in the main window to begin with, but I can also understand if the devs think that would be a waste of too much real estate.

And, to be fair, it's extremely minor - a simple thread here in the forums may be more than enough. :D

Regarding the Mac version, can it be hidden in the menu bar when booting?
It always displays the window when it starts up!

PS: I have open "Launch at startup (minimized)"

Hi dev team,

1. I'm exited by the progress of FDM 6.x on Mac. Do you know when we should expect a Safari browser integration?

2. A bug in menu display: under "Free Download Manager" Menu, the first item should be "About FDM..." and it is actually missing. The three-line menu in FDM 6.x is not an expected behavior on the Mac platform. Preferences, about... and quit should be under application menu; contact... should be under help menu. FDM should follow Apple Human Interface Guidelines. See menu entry at: https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/macos/overview/themes/

3. By the way, this menu item is also incorrect in version 5.x; the "About FDM..." is not the first item of the menu.".

4. Still in 5.x, in French the "About..." item should be translated as "À propos de FDM..." instead of the current "Près de Free Download Manager". For your information, "Près" is not a word in French.
